Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2 x dead on delivery but Scan was great I have shopped with Scan for well over a decade. Never any problems with the kit, until now. Of several of these WD40's 1 was dead on arrival. Scan was brilliant and replaced no problem, next one also dead on arrival. Same again - 3rd time was great . I asked Scan to check the drive before sending and all was good. This is the first time i really needed the customer service team - I will definitely continue to shop with scan. Not sure about the drive though. I have 6 of these WD40's but this may well be the last one i have ordered.

Are these DM-SMR drives?

What level of performance impact will be seen when using one of these to beuild a RAID array, replacing a previous WD-RED WD40EFRX? Are reports of 98-99% degradation vs past models when rebuilding ZFS RAIDZ3 arrays accurate?
