One of a pair of 1TB drives failed, so I changed both and increased the space, too. Everything works well - and they are quieter than those that I replaced.

It is not possible to know whether this was due to the poor packaging they arrived in or a manufacturers defect.

I'm quite impressed with the performance, they're noticeably quicker at both read and write than the two they replaced. The drives were very well packaged by Scan for delivery - something I'm quite paranoid about with shock-sensitive conventional hard drives. Good performance, good value, well packaged. Recommended.

Screws

Should this come with the mounting screws?

No screws supplied with the drive. Given that the screws depend on how you mount the drive in the PC it probably makes sense. For example my PC has drive trays and the drives sit on rubber feet, so the screws are slightly longer to accommodate that.

Does it have NCQ?

The spec says no but the page header indicate yes.
