Advanced RX 480 Cooling

The WINDFORCE 2X cooling system is the outcome of both clever and efficient design. Built into the G1 GAMING RX 480 graphics card, it features 3 pure copper composite heat-pipes, heat-pipe direct touch GPU, 90mm unique blade fan design, 3D active fan with LED indicators, stylish metal back plate, together delivering an effective heat dissipation capacity for a higher performing GIGABYTE Radeon RX 480 at lower temperatures.

GIGABYTE 480 Unique Fan Blades

The RX 480 airflow is spilt by it’s triangle fan edge, which is then guided smoothly through the 3D stripe curve on the fan surface, effectively enhancing the GIGABYTE GAMING X 480 airflow by 23% over traditional fans.

Heat Pipes Help With Cooling the GPU

The G1 GAMING 480 features Direct Touch technology. This tech as seen above utilizes heat pipes made of pure copper and are shaped to maximize the direct contact area to the RX 480's GPU so they can carry generated heat away from your GPU. This keeps your gaming and media going for longer and displaying as smooth as can be.

Composite Heat-Pipes Embedded 480

Through a combination of thermal conductivity and phase transition the Gaming Radeon RX 480 efficiently manages the transfer of heat between two solid interfaces - which increases 29% of cooling capacity.

Added Style of the RX 480 Card

When it comes to the LEDs featured on the G1 GAMING they are there for both style and convenience. Firstly, the GIGABYTE logo will simply make your graphics card and PC case (through ambient lighting) look that bit more suave and will follow whatever animation/colour instructions you have set it. Also, the ‘Fan Stop’ LED will provide the G1 GAMING 480's fan status at a glance by responding differently when the power supply is altered.

Protecting 480 Graphic Cards in Style

Enjoy stylish design on both the top and bottom of the GIGABYTE G1 GAMING 480. This graphics card features a stylish metal backplate; coloured black it offers rigidity and protection of the structure whilst adding a sleek, clean look to the card.

Complete Control of 480 and Features

Features on the RX 480 GIGABYTE’s Xtreme Engine allows you to adjust clock speeds, voltage, fan performance, RGB lighting effect and power target. The OSD setting can be monitored and tuned in real-time according to your own preference through this intuitive interface.

It's been a good start to the year for PC enthusiasts. Intel has unleashed the deca-core Core i7-6950X and Nvidia has served up a suitable partner in the form of the high-end GeForce GTX 1080. Handy, if you happen to have thousands of pounds to pour into your next PC, but for everyone else a more mainstream solution is needed to sate our appetites.

4GB Gigabyte Radeon RX 480 G1 GAMING, 14nm Polaris, PCIe 3.0, 7000MHz GDDR5, 1290MHz GPU, 2304 Streams, 3xDP/HDMI/DVI-D is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent future proofed budget graphics card for high quality gaming I am a huge fan of AMD and always buy their products. This card was exactly what I needed to future proof my PC rig until AMD's Ryzen CPU launch. I am able to play Battlefield One on High settings at 60 fps with an FX8320E CPU at 1080p but not at ultra settings because I feel that the CPU itself bottlenecks performance. My only gripe with *this* variant of the Polaris GPU from Gigabyte is the 8 PIN power connector for the card itself. I literally had to shell out an extra £70 to buy a modular PSU with the correct power connector type as my previous PSU unit only had 6 pin plugs. You would have thought that Gigabyte would have at least included the correct cable or adapter with the card. Eitherway, before buying this card *MAKE SURE* that your PSU has an 8 pin plug to power the card. I looked up an RX 460 recently and found that it has a 6 pin connector, so I wonder if the 8 PIN requirement is solely a Gigabyte design thing. That aside, I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice. Can be a bit loud The delivery was perfect, the package was nice. The card itself does good, but if you don't want it to be really loud you need a well cooped case.
