EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW+ ACX+ Gaming Card

As far as high performance graphics cards go the GeForce GTX 970 is one of the best value cards around. NVIDIA has combined its latest Maxwell graphics technology with 4GB of video memory to easily power your HD monitors. The efficient EVGA GTX 970 FTW+ ACX 2.0+ can offer excellent gaming performance for an affordable price.

The latest generation of EVGA GeForce GTX 970s have arrived with FTW+. This enhanced model offers an included backplate, improved cooling, double BIOS support, new display output configuration and 6 power phases for robust overclocking support.

Backplate - Included backplate gives the FTW+ card a nice clean look, and helps reinforce the PCB.

Active Cooling Xtreme 2.0+
ACX 2.0+ adds to the features on the award winning EVGA ACX 2.0 cooling technology which can be found on the EVGA GTX 980 Superclocked ACX 2.0. The most significant changes are a Memory MOSFET Cooling Plate (MMCP) which reduceses MOSFET temperatures by 11°C, and optimized Straight Heat Pipes (SHP) that are more efficient than the U and S shaped designs that other manufacturers use resulting in reduced GPU temperatures by an additional 5°C. ACX 2.0+ coolers also feature optimized Swept fan blades, double ball bearings and an xtreme low power motor, delivering more air flow with less power, creating additional power for the GPU.

dB Noise Inverter

dBi - dB Noise Inverter
EVGA's ACX 2.0+ fan turns off below 60°C, generating 0dB of noise.

Optimised Power Target

OPT - Optimised Power Target
The power target is precisely tuned for the perfect balance of thermal, power and performance, offering 33% more power over the reference card.

Memory MOSFET Cooling Plate

MMCP - Memory MOSFET Cooling Plate
Full size cooling plate makes direct contact with memory and MOSFETS, reducing memory up to 9°C and MOSFET up to 11°C.

Straight Heat Pipes

SHP - Straight Heat Pipes
Triple 8mm straight heat pipes offer 6% better heat dissipation than bent heat pipes with reduced thermal resistance.

Quick Switch Dual BIOS

QSD BIOS - Quick Switch Dual BIOS
Multiple integrated BIOS's allow you to switch to the secondary with the flick of a switch.

ACX 2.0+ on the EVGA GTX 970 means better overclocking
The maximum "power target" takes into account the fan power consumption, meaning the lower the power consumption from the fan, the more power available resulting in better overclocking. EVGA ACX 2.0+ coolers use over 4x less power than competitors allowing for better and more stable overclocks. In some cases, just a few watts of additional power for the card can provide additional headroom of up to +25MHz for your GPU or +350MHz memory frequency.

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Its a beast I am over the moon with this Graphics card, pleased I spent the extra money on it. Sits with high graphics settings in Assassins creed syndicate easily, and hits 58 - 60 FPS. I this is graphics heavy game. Cant say more than that really. Apart from I love it. 10 May 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Powerful Card for the money. This card offers great power for the price. It is well made and this version comes with the back plate. The card replaced a 2012 GTX 680 and has improved the visual quality of GTA V and gives 48 to 60Fps with some very high settings in 1080P. Yes it's a touch pricey but the performance is close enough to the 980 without the much higher price and I have not overclocked it yet. Recommended for 1080P gaming. 24 April 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 great midrange card. Real value for money this card, bought it to see me over until Pascal is steady and it fits the bill for me. Plays BF4 well at 120 fps on a 120hz monitor hardly getting warm with minimal fan effort. Coming with the Division was like a £30 rebate for me as I would have bought that anyway. 28 March 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by amazing! It's definitely worth the price although the pascal cards are out this year so if you're looking for an upgrade i would wait for those! 21 March 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Product Have been AMD user for years, but after reading reviews chose this to replace HD7950. More games are produced with Nvidia in mind so I changed to this card, its not much faster, but much quieter and uses less power. EVGA seem to have got the sweet spot between speed and silence with a cooler running card to boot. very good value for money. 11 February 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great card The 970 is absolutely the best price/performance card for 1080p on the market. The FTW+ is the best of the best in that regard. The cards stock boost clock is not massively impressive however, this card LOVES to overclock. With the ACX 2.0 cooler it stays relatively cool with all stable overclocks I could throw at it. All in all a fantastic card for enthusiasts at 1080p gaming. 05 February 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gtx 570 upgrade I recently upgraded from a GTX 570 to this. The 570 was running at 86 degrees Celsius overclocked on games and getting 35-45 fps. On fallout 4 with everything maxed I'm not getting 45-70 fps with the card barely reaching 65 degrees, it's a lot quieter than the 570. It fit straight into my computer easily enough. Uninstalled old drivers booted up and installed new drivers and it was ready to go. It wasn't much bigger than the Gtx 570 in size, overclocked these cards can reach base 980 stats. Very pleased, Running the new Tomb raider on 40-70 fps with almost everything maxed apart from textures which require 4gb of VRAM atleast. Scans service was top notch. My first purchase from them, very happy overall will be using again. 03 February 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gteat value card Bought 2 of these cards with backplates and sli bridge Great card. Run them at 2560 x 1440 on my asus rog swift monitor without any problems. Scan service is 5 star as always. 14 January 2016

Answer:
This card can drive two monitors via Display port. It has 3 Full sized display port connectors on the back. This was done so people could power up to 3 displays at once for surround gaming with only 1 card.

Answer:
As long as they both have the same GPU i.e. 970 and they are both up to date.
You can SLI them however both cards will only clock the same speeds as the slowest of the two. What may appear to be a newer card to my current knowledge is the same cards in different packaging. You should be fine with SLI.
