Rated 5 out of 5 by from Offsite Backups Used one of these with a 4 bay caddy and 4x 2.5" drives for client to take 1 disk offsite each week. This one allows for hot-swap and is cheap so is perfect for this type of mission.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reasonable cost and good value I used this card to set up a mirrored, striped large array using 4 Seagate 3 T drives. I was using a quality gigabyte board and the bios had to be updated to make the raid card function with it. I updated the gigabyte bios using their internet software and the firmware on the raid card needed a usb disk set up as the boot drive, which was a bit of a pain, but not too difficult in the end. The whole system now goes very fast, I am getting 320Mb sec across the whole array, which is very pleasing. I use the array for secure projects for customers: this includes HD video editing and website design. I am very pleased with the upgrade.

Are these now supplied with the latest BIOS?

I have some of these cards that were bought in 2012 and they have been very reliable. Since I upgraded to windows 10 I have had problems but I have been unable to upgrade the BIOS to the latest version that I downloaded from the Highpoint website. I get a message saying that it was incompatible when attempting to upgrade the BIOS. The latest drivers won't work with the old BIOS.

Hello, I'm afraid we do not have specific details of the BIOS revisions provided on these units. If you are having issues updating the drivers/BIOS, I would advise contacting the manufacturer as they may be able to advise on some troubleshooting to get these working for you. Kind regards,
