Product Overview The ASUS VG278H is a 27" LED 120Hz, 3D display with upgraded NVIDIA® 3D Vision™ technology. It features NVIDIA's latest 3D LightBoost™ technology which helps produce visuals that are twice as bright as conventional 3D technology. 3D LightBoost™ doubles the 3D image intensity without increasing energy consumption; while the redesigned shutter glasses comes with a larger viewing lens as well as a light-blocking visor for comfortable viewing.

The 2ms (gray-to-gray) response time and 120Hz refresh rate also ensure ultra-smooth 3D visuals. The VG278H is also ergonomically-designed allowing for swivel, tilt angle and height adjustments. It also comes with a built-in, angle-adjustable 3D emitter to cater to the user's preferred viewing position.

The VG278H allows 3D viewing through an array of entertainment options including web-based video streams, Blu-ray movies and over 550 popular gaming titles. The built-in, angle-adjustable 3D emitter can be aimed directly at the shutter glasses for optimised signal reception while three 3D infrared modes (Normal / CE Compatible / LAN party) help eliminate infrared interference from surrounding electronic devices.

G-SYNC works in a surprisingly simple way - it calculates how long the present frame takes to compute and then, crucially, varies the refresh rate of the monitor to match. It works between a minimum of 33.3ms (30fps) and the maximum supported refresh of the display. The key takeaway here is that the graphics card and monitor are both synced up to one another - the monitor doesn't have the limitations imposed by a rigid, fixed-rate scanning routine.
