The arrival of the solid-state drive (SSD) has revolutionised the speed at which modern PCs perform common tasks. This is because SSDs have no moving parts, compared to larger, bulkier mechanical drives, thus they store information on memory chips. This means that accesses, reads and writes are many, many times faster

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Great SSD, not the best, but for the low price I doubt you could find anything better! Definitely recommend for someone looking at M.2 SSDs on a tighter budget.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blazes through tasks. I have always wanted a M.2 drive and finally, when I did a new build, this was a necessary part of my spec. It is very fast and blazes through tasks. It is a good space for boot, windows files and apps. 256GB is a sweet spot for me. I have a dedicated SSD for my Steam library.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blisteringly fast. Went in an Intel Nuc Kit alongside an existing SATA SSD with no problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb value for money! I used this as my c: drive for my new AMD Ryzen 5 1600X / Asus Prime X370-PRO AM4 build and was not disappointed. I read alot about installing the Samsung drivers to get the best out of this SSD but in my fresh Windows 10 Pro 64 build it was recognised easily and gave excellent performance out of the box. Installing the Samsung drivers only improved the write performance and reduced the read slightly. But for the money a great buy. My system boots in 10 seconds!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ulttra High speed for low £ Purchased this for my new Ryzen Build. * make sure to install the Samsung drivers before you do anything after windows install to get the most from this drive. Super fast gets very high bench marks on my system ([email protected]). Cheaper than their evo series with a very very small performance deficient. Recommended highly

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not easy to instal I bought this along with a Stryx Z270 mobo and a i7 7700K for a new build, but could not for the life of me get Windows to see the drive when installing the OS. Ended up buying a standard SSD and everything went tickety boo. I imagine if you're installing this with the OS already in place then you won't encounter the issues i had.

Questions & Answers

Is this compatible with my Gigabyte 990X-Gaming series motherboard

Asked by: Sofala
This SSD runs on the PCIe platform, the Gigabyte GA-990x SLI motherboard has one M.2 slot supporting a PCIe SSD. So, there is no reason why this SSD wouldn’t be compatible with your motherboard, in answer to your question: yes. Hope that helps

How many of these can you install on a asus Z170-A board thankyou.

Asked by: Patty
The Asus website for this product indicates that the motherboard has a single M.2 slot (for SATA or PCIe SSDs). So, in answer to your question: 1.
