Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent performance despite it's form factor I have to say I am really surprised how well this performs. I was told that if I were to get an SSD, it either be from Samsung or Kingston and I can see how they have gotten their reputation. The statement that NVMe SSDs are 4x faster than SATA SSDs is VERY noticeable. I can load games so much more quickly and since my OS is loaded on it, general responsiveness is more much better now. I will say, however, that it does not include a holding screw (which made me panic at first as I didn't know whether I had one that would fit or not). It is a small detail but it was not clear when I bought it, that I would need my own screw. Yes - it says it on the back of the box...in very small writing but otherwise I don't think any mention was made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable & Fast I have been looking at an NVMe SSD since my original SATA SSD gave out. I opted for this SSD for the read/write combo speeds compared to others available as well as it being widely known that Samsung produce very high quality electronics - especially SSDs. I plugged this into my MSI Pro Series X370 mobo and had no trouble cloning and then booting off of this drive. Obviously, because storage doesn't have much to do in the way of gaming, my gaming experience is relatively the same however all other functions not gaming-related are now super fast. You can really see the 4x difference between a normal SATA SSD and one of these. I was quite disappointed that it did not come with any mounting screws (Just in case) but my motherboard came with some anyway. I believe Samsung sell the screws separately though if I ever needed a new set for any reason. Not really unique to this SSD but - Installation of the NMVe drive is really simple. Just locate the port on the motherboard (Luckily mine is on the front) and plug it in until it clicks. Then screw it into the corresponding thread on the motherboard. I just went into the BIOS after cloning & rebooting and re-ordered my boot priority. I had no similar issues to what others have been raising so they may have just had bad components?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the fastest SSDs on the market It is really impressive how fast and reliable is this SSD. Regular SSD is 3x times slower than this. When you install it on your system with a decent CPU installed (mine is AMD Ryzen 5), your system boots in 5 seconds. That is really something.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not so good It is really fast, that is if you are smart enough to install your system on this. Windows 10 says the drive is locked, and If you change the setting in uefi the system wont post , I tried every possible option including disk initialization that failed to see the drive as a drive. After hours of trying everything I managed to get it up and running, but the mobo is still taking around 30 seconds booting up, saying that there is a ram issue ... which it is not its the drive.. after spending so much money I would expect other parties like windows or asus to INSTALL PROPER DRIVERS before hand so when we get our product we can just plug it in and play !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best upgrade for my motherboard!T This just fitted straight onto my ROG Extreme motherboard. Had to double check that the mobo takes the M.2 NVMe as there is a difference. But once verified all I had to do was slot it in, fix with the small screw provided. Reboot into my "old" SSD drive, use the software from Samsung to copy my OS onto the Evo 960, shut down then remove my old SSD from the box and fire up again straight from the EVO. The speed difference is remarkable.Remember the change from spinning platters to SSD - well this is the same. I notice every response - much faster. 3D applications and VMs are super speedy. Worth every penny and a brilliant upgrade for my 3XS system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performance If you PC can support/boot from PCIe NVMe you have to buy one Supported under WIndows 10 default , Windows 7 requires an update to support these devices

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bit pricey, But great drive Brought one of these from Scan last week, as usual, excellent service and very fast delivery. I installed it into an MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon and booted to the bios, couldnt see it anywhere in the bios, so switched off, unplugged all my other drives and booted to the bios once again, I still couldnt see it, then thought to myself, well its not really an SSD as such as it runs on the PCI-e lanes, so proceeded to install Windows 10, the windows setup found the drive and all was good in the world once again !!! Immediately after the initial setup was complete, I rebooted back to the bios before completing the 2nd part of the Windows setup, and the drive appeared in boot devices. I want to get another one as 250gb isnt really enough, I have 97gb of space left so far so its almost full, I'll RAID0 them together, not for performance reasons but for space reasons, its just easier this way, lost no performance at all on the drive, very fast drive, Windows boots in a matter of seconds (see the vid below) powered on the computer when you see the monitor flicker. p.s, this drive is tiny, way smaller than I was expecting, its a little bit longer than a USB stick without the plastic case on it to give you some idea, but very fast. Unfortunately, I wont be purchasing from Scan as they put the price of this drive up, unless they drop the price again, I'll purchase from elsewhere.
