Rated 5 out of 5 by Exactly as expected The product works perfectly with no issues whatsoever. Dealing with Scan was quick and easy and delivery was on time. 21 April 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good value Convenient size, and fixing holes, robust design, quiet operation, good performance. Upgrading from a mechanical HDD so cannot compare with other SSDs, however online reviews suggest a good median performance. 05 March 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant!! Excellent, as usual. Just what my son needed for his PC. 05 February 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sand force controller - brilliant Kingston have began to use a SandForce controller on these SSD's and that results in excellent reliability. They are the most reliable and amongst the fastest SSDs FOR THE PRICE. If you want more speed then the SAMSUNG 850 Pro are outstanding, but significantly more expensive. Buy the Kingston LSI SandForce on budget and you won't regret it. The best upgrade by far. 06 December 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product I bought this to use as a primary boot drive, this was to replace my 1tb hdd I bought about 5 years ago, which at the time only had a windows index rating of 6. All I can say now that windows is loading from this drive my start up time is seconds rather than minutes. With enough room for those games that have heavy loading times (civ for example). My system is about 9x faster. Also in terms of value for money, if the convenience wasn't enough, I'm now turning my Pc off more frequently as I don't have to worry about waiting around on boot, so I'm sure by the end of its life span I will have saved the difference on electricity. The old drive now is used for media and some less played games. 14 November 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Straight forward Bought this SSD to help improve the performance of my son's gaming PC. It was straight forward to fit, and seems to work well. 19 April 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Kingston HDD Great product, should have gotten one ages ago, i was going to go for a 120Gb but after windows has taken its share i dont imagine there is alot left for other stuff 22 January 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very fast, very reliable It's a breeze to install. runs fast (nearly at rated speeds in real world tests). Love it, it's never missed a beat, and it's write speeds are very high for it's price point. 05 January 2015

Answer:
This unit presents itself as a storage device, so it depends on your backup/restore software if it can restore to a storage device of a smaller capacity. Logically, it is not different than a mechanical HDD.
