I've noticed that all SSD prices have increased by up to 20% in the past month or so, probably due to a supply shortage in China, but this applies to all similar products. Never had any issues & I'd recommend this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A new laptop for under £40... well no, but.. My laptop is getting on a bit: i don’t earn enough to buy a new one. I have always trusted Crucial, they recommended this drive (also a dearer one). Scan could provide the same drive, cheaper. Bless them. Drive ordered, next day delivery - plopped into machine (i didn’t bother trying to clone anything) New install W10 took hardly any time. Machine is speedy, quiet, cooler (actually why I knocked a star off, the drive software reports that the drive is too hot and i can’t see why it should be). It FEELS cooler. And the battery lasts longer. So, trusted manufacturer of memory and ssd, delivered to me next day by the fab team at Scan. Couldn’t ask for more.. (Though I do wonder now if the more expensive drive would’ve been even better, this is great and i have a working machine back. Super)

macbook 6,1 compatibility

I do not know, it should be. I would commend you to go to Crucial’s web site, if the machine is running - they have a system scanner which is guaranteed. If not running, you can use the pull down boxes - manufacturer/ model etc But DO buy from Scan.. cheaper and faster delivery.
