An easy upgrade for an aging laptop.
Transfer software to create a copy of the old drive, included.
Cheaper than buying a new laptop but just as effective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CaffLondon Not the cheapest, but from a quality manufacturer
I was torn between this and a Sandisk, but this disk is wickedly fast and does the job perfectly as my main games storage drive.
I'm hoping from a manufacturer like Samsung it'll last a good deal longer than a cheaper option.

Let me be clear, the SSD itself works just fine in Windows 10, its the Magician software that does not.
However, if you want to enjoy the full 540/520 performance that you paid for then you'll need to use the performance options within the Magician software.
In Windows 10 this is not possible. I cannot do any better that 330 Write and 340 Read speeds as indicated by the benchmarks within Magician. The Rapid Mode option is grayed out and over-provisioning is a complete disaster!
DO NOT USE Over Provisioning... which supposedly maximizes the lifetime and performance of your SSD ended in near disaster for me, not once but twice!
My second attempt to reserve 10% after an identical and potentially disastrous first attempt resulted in reserving the remaining 730GB instead.
That would be fine if it wasn't for the fact that there is no way of undoing this. The over-provisioning removal tool does not work properly, your SSD still thinks it is full to capacity.
If you are very lucky like me and still have your old SSD then you have the luxury of purchasing a USB SSD adapter cable, opening up your machine, installing and booting from your old SSD, format, yes FORMAT the new SSD, then using the cable perform an extremely lengthy data migration, then reinstall the new SSD back into the machine, boot up and hope for the best.
The SSD works fine now, it's faultless and fast but you're paying for the extreme performance and not getting it, which means its value is severely diminished.
SamSung's Data Migration Tool is fantastic, it saved the day, but it needs to be fantastic because the rest of Magician is so dangerous for Windows 10 users that it should come with a health warning.

1Tb of storage and super fast to boot windows - using it as my main software drive and it's exactly what I need and a good price for such a large volume!

The performance of these drives in a raid 0 configuration is simply jaw dropping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FrontSideBus Fast, fast & fast. Did I mention fast?
Silly fast drive and a doddle to install. PC boots to usuable Win7 desktop in under 30 seconds. Programs don't load, they just "open" when clicked. First SSD so can't say how it compares with other SSD's. Will have to see how good the endurance is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MrZipf Easy upgrade on Win8.1 x64
Upgraded from a Samsung 830 256GB. Samsung data migration software makes that easy to do. No discernible performance difference in everyday usage from the previous drive, but benchmarks say it's faster.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Splatman Excellent speed and good software
The drive is fast, as you would expect, and very easy to install. Can't fault the software, shows you how to optimise the drive and items such as TRIM are handled with aplomb. Overall a great product, even my old socket 1366 Core i7 and Gigabyte mobo handled it, the only issue is getting AHCI mode to work but that is more the age of the mobo/BIOS than any fault of the SSD. In every respect, a very satisfactory purchase.
