ref LN52439 HDMI output to a monitor with DP input

I need to know if your product ref LN52439 will connect to a pc with HDMI output - to- a monitor with DP input. Chris told me verbally it should be ok, but having looked at various websites, there seems to be an issue with this. when i ordered an adapter from you a couple of years back, it was a hassle trying to return it because i opened the packaging. i dont want a repeat of that experience if i have to buy one to see if it works.
