Run 1200W PSU?

I'm running a 1200w PSU. I only bought this for silent operation. The system itself draws 550w max load. Will this work or so I have to match the wattage of the PSU.
Asked by: 3dwannab
I have a 1200w psu and pc uses about 600watts. I was confused by which to chose and asked youtuber barnacules and he said match it to the pc’s max power draw not the psu
