Rated 4 out of 5 by AdrianK Great little tablet/laptop
At first I was a little sceptic, how could a tablet keep up with the cheap netbooks and laptops you can buy nowadays. But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this little Tablet.
Windows 8.1 runs extremely well, despite having only 2GB of ram, and it runs all of my work tools with ease.
If you're in the market for a laptop which can be easily transformed into a tablet, I'd 100% recommend the ASUS Transformer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by brianj Really good value for money
I bought this as a supplementary notebook to be used only for secure online work. It is a small, light machine with all that I needed. Its battery lasts a full day, and it boots up reasonably quickly. For some it has the advantage that the screen can be detached from the keyboard as a tablet, but I do not use this facility. It came with a full version (not a subscription version limited to one year) of Office 2103 Home and Student, which alone would be worth around £80.
My main criticism is that the mouse click keys are built in to the mousepad, and the latter is not always appropriately responsive - I find I often have to move the mouse pointer away and back and then click or tap again to get the required response. I can find no way adjusting the sensitivity settings.
Another slight disadvantage, for some, is that it is not easily possible to install or boot from any alternative OS, specifically Linux.
There is only limited storage (around 10G after all is installed), so this is not suitable for lots of photos, videos or music. However, there is a slot for a mini sd card, which can more than double the available disk space. A USB 3.0 port can be used to add even more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ellipsis US keyboard and power plug, missing operating system
This refurbished laptop arrived with a US keyboard and plug on the power cable and when I powered it up I got a message that Windows 8.1 hadn't installed. Fortunately, it was a replacement for a faulty laptop and I knew how to factory reset to install the OS. And I touch-type so I can get used to the keyboard, and I still have the old UK power supply.
Also, when Windows had installed and loaded, I found that Microsoft Office Home and Student edition - normally included with this laptop - wasn't there. Again, I knew how to remedy this by going to my MS account and downloading it. But I don't feel I should have had to jump through these hoops just to get a bargain price. Many other people would have simply made a complaint and returned the unit.
Although it was a refurbished laptop, there was no mention of any of these 'features' on the web page. I assumed I'd be buying a working UK model.
Despite all this, the laptop is excellent value, especially with MS Office included so, overall, I'm happy with my purchase. But if this offer for a refurbished Asus T100TA becomes available again, I recommend that you check with Scan precisely what you'll be getting for your money. And maybe take an advanced course in computer systems management just in case.
