Good use for spare drives.
Good item for any spare hard drives that you have, but you cannot set up any raid arrays.

10 Bay Icy Box - Good, when it works
I have populated this 10 Bay Icy Box with 7 various sized HDDs of varying makes and models. First issue is getting the PC to initialise and recognise the HDD contents. I have tried numerous start-up routines, from all on to trying each HDD one by one. So far, I haven't found the key; just perseverance.
When it works, it is a great piece of kit. File transfer is as fast as the particular HDD will allow.
In short, this 10 Bay Icy Box saves a huge amount of cables and power supplies, if you have a disparate group of HDDs. Recommended.

Mostly reliable, good value
I was looking for a simple JBOD hub to use for archiving and backup purposes with my Mac Mini, and after having tried several other models—all of which I returned for the same reason (drives ejecting randomly)—I finally settled on this unit. I liked it so much I ended up buying two!
PROS
• High number of disk bays (10).
• Individual on/off power button for each bay.
• Differently from lots of other similar units, this one has never triggered an unwanted random drive ejection.
• Good performance via USB3.
CONS
• Has occasionally crashed the system, forcing it to restart. I don't know what causes this to happen exactly, but it has only happened twice. I'd say 95% of the time it works flawlessly.
• Cooling fan is somewhat noisy.

It's not RAID
Should have read the capabilities. You get 10 individual drives. As it's USB connected, you can't even span or extend across multiple disks. :(
It does, however perform very well and I have no complaints.

icy box is good kit, slightly pricy but worth it. Using 5 out of 10 slots
each drive has power on / off button and activity status lights. Blue is powered and blue/purple shows write activity.
Cooling is good and silent, plenty of internal airflow
