This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and innovative technology business. We’re seeking a motivated and strategic Product Manager to join the Procurement & Product Management Team at Scan Computers International Ltd. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement, management, and development of our I.T. equipment portfolio while building strong relationships with suppliers, partners, and business customers.

This is a full-time, office-based position (Monday–Friday, 09:00 – 17:30 with a 1-hour lunch) at our head office in Enterprise Park, Middlebrook, Horwich, Bolton (BL6 6PE). Applicants should live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate.

The Role:

  • As a Senior Product Manager (I.T. Procurement), you will:
  • Manage the procurement process for I.T. hardware, software, and related technologies.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships to secure the best commercial terms.
  • Monitor product performance, pricing, and availability to ensure Scan remains competitive in the market.
  • Work closely with sales and account management teams to align procurement with customer needs.
  • Negotiate contracts, rebates, and supply agreements with partners.
  • Analyse data and market trends to inform purchasing decisions and product strategies.
  • Proactively identify new product opportunities and emerging technologies to grow our portfolio.
  • Support the Managed Accounts Team with product knowledge and procurement expertise.
  • Document and manage procurement pipelines and performance metrics using tools such as Trello and internal systems.
  • Continuously increase product and market knowledge through research and training.
  • Product setup and sourcing – Identify and source products based on market trends and customer demand
  • Deliver category margin targets aligned with company goals and negotiating rebates, sales out allowances and further support
  • Develop and implement product strategies with a clear goal
  • Order placement – Manage a portfolio of products, placing purchase orders, track deliveries and ensure timely receipt of goods
  • Inventory control – Manage and monitor inventory levels to optimise and maximise stock turn
  • Sales support – Provide sales teams with product knowledge and support
  • Collaborate through multiple teams through the company supporting logistics, marketing, customer services, business to business and finance
  • Work with vendors and vendor management to deliver key strategies

The Candidate:

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in purchasing with a strong knowledge of the industry and market trends
  • Experienced in product management, procurement, or purchasing—ideally within the IT industry
  • Knowledgeable about I.T. hardware, software, and technology solutions
  • A strong communicator with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Confident, professional, and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and high-value customers
  • Works well within a team. Works well with company goals and planning
  • Effective communication skills working with internal teams and external partners
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, analytical, and commercially minded with a focus on delivering results
  • A team player with the ability to also work independently
  • Results driven individual
  • Preferably has direct experience within the I.T. or technology industry
  • Passionate about technology, with a genuine interest in innovation and the latest industry trends
