Cloud Workstation Buyers Guide

The majority of Scan’s in-house 3XS Systems workstations can be provisioned as a virtual cloud-based instance on a subscription basis, as an alternative to buying a physical system.

Unlike many cloud providers, our in-house team of experts, 3XS Systems, has been building workstations for more than 20 years. We know which components are the fastest and most reliable, and how to fine-tune and combine them for the ultimate experience. Here’s what you need to know.

The most obvious reasons to choose a cloud solution are flexibility and cost. As mentioned above, a cloud workstation has no fixed physical element so you can access it and work from any device, anywhere. Furthermore, as it is a subscription service there is no upfront outlay, so it would be classed as operating expenditure or OPEX, rather than capital expenditure or CAPEX, usually associated with one-time major, long term expenses. Furthermore, the flexibility of a cloud platform allows it to be scaled up or down as demand and workloads change.
