Stackable for Enthusiasts
With its endless stacking design, the Core X9 is in a class above the rest. Virtually limitless utility is possible; it offers an expandable system allowing enthusiasts to incorporate externally-modular upgrades. Stacked together, the chassis opens up space to expand the liquid cooling system, the storage solutions, or even create dual systems, thereby enabling a dedicated top/bottom set-up for pure cooling. When stacked, the maximum radiator length supported is 600mm on the front side.

Remarkable Expansion
Designed for high-end gaming system compatibility, the Core X9's modular drive racks allow gamers to easily install up to six data storage devices, a dual expansion slot VGA of up to 590mm in length, and a tower CPU cooler as high as 250mm. Chassis Airflow
Chassis Airflow
Date Issued: 20th Oct 2008

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Watercooling
Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Top case Excellent case for modding or messing about with. Well built with lots of options 14 April 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolutely sensational case This massive beauty is everything you could wish for. Accommodates any and all PC components out there. The fans included are whisper quiet. The HHD drawers can be a bit fiddly getting the SATA cables to the drive but nothing to cause any problems. Well worth a purchase at this ridiculously low price. 09 April 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Huge but superb case I've been building my own PCs for over 20 years and this may be the best case I've had yet. I've used it for a watercooling build. It's huge but if you have the room it is beautifully laid out, no sharp corners or difficult to reach areas and access is extremely easy because of the size and the way it all comes apart, and if that wasn't enough, the motherboard tray is removeable anyway. It is highly configurable in that there are 2 locations for a PSU, a huge variety of fan options (with dust filters all round), and the side panels, one with a window, one without, will fit on either side of the case so you choose how you want it. To boot, it is an amazing price for what you get. Can't fault it! Very highly recommended. 04 April 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent case Excellent case with lots of room inside, definitely a must if you use water cooling as there are plenty of configuration options and being expandable makes this case really the ultimate case for the enthusiast builder or gaming pc.Bought and received the case the next day excellent service. 06 December 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good but slightly damaged in transport Excellent case with lots of room and incredible 20cm fan. One of the side panel screw holes was bent out of shape when it arrived, can be worked around but is slight inconvenience. Otherwise a good product 13 November 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by An Overall very impressive case! This product as many others have mentioned.. HUGE! Be prepared for a mammoth sized case so it's not for the faint of heart! This is purely a modders dream case, showing off every angle of your hard work is what this is about. The modular aspect of the case is fantastic, being able to move drives and fans to most suitable locations and the dual PSU locations allow for swapping and even dual PSU. You can even stack more that one of these together!! Slight niggles I had were things like for a second 200mm fan on the front meant customizing the fixings and the front lid to allow it to fit, and the weight of this thing with everything fitted (especially water cooling) means it gets very heavy. There are no handles to carry this behemoth and so moving it to lan events or shows can be a bit awkward. The side panels are a tiny bit flexible but not enough to cause any vibration when fixed in place. The amount of thumbscrew fixings make this to be very simple to swap out sections or components without excessive effort. Cable management is made very simple with plenty of sections and loops to fix and hide cables. A finished build looks incredible, the use of lighting is advised as with the lid and sides on (with handy magnetic dust filters) make it a little dark inside. I would mainly recommend this product to modders and extreme builders as just a simple pc build would be dwarfed in this epic case. From a happy customer :) 18 August 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Massive Case! First off be prepared for a big case (and I mean big!) which is what I wanted. Its double the width of a standard tower and has around an extra 10-20 cm depth. There is loads of room to get all of your hardware in and make it look neat. It has cable management holes throughout the case making cable routing and hiding easy. In the bottom it has 2 sets of drive holders each holds 3 drives each 2.5 or 3.5. A nice option to this is the fact you can take these out if your not using them, making space for other stuff such as a water res. The MB is held flat in the box rather then on a side what has pros and cons. Pros: water cooling set ups can look really neat with the main rads being directly above the MB, Easy wire management. Cons: the Gcard being vertical blocks the view of the CPU and Ram and anything behind it if its a big card (295x2...) but this is only really a con if you want to see the other blocks on the MB. On the upside if you have a nice block on your GPU it will look really nice. As for cooling water or water there is a lot you can do. behind the front there is a big intake fan that looks like it could cool a bus engine. On the top you can mount up to 2x 480 rads however if its a thick rad you may need to remove the top 3.5 drive at the front as there is not a lot of space between that and the 4th 120 square. You can also fit rads on the sides, back and there are pipe outlets out of the back of the case (not really sure if many people would use these as you can fit so much inside). The side window looks good with not a lot of obstructions from the structure of the case and the power button is of to the side as well. Another nice touch if like me you have the windowed side facing you. I believe you can change these to the other side if you wish. Once I finish my water cooling, stick in some UV lights etc this case will look amazing, and I can ignore my wife's disapproving look at this huge beast and be in awe of its beauty. Overall for the price i would say this is a great case with more room then the Tardis. Word of caution this thing gets extremely heavy after adding all the hardware, so try not to add everything far away from where its going to be placed. 02 July 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Big, brash, expensive and not as good as it should be. I submitted a review to Scan (when they requested me to do so!), but, they declined to publish it due to some absurd reason. So I published my review on UK Amazon (completely hassle free by the way). So check it out on Amazon. 14 March 2015
