Insta360 One X: One with the Moment
Shake UpThe action camera needed a change. Resolution increases, built in app connectivity and incre-mental improvements are all well and good, but what about the actual improvements for action?
That’s where the Insta360 One X comes in.
Equipped with a 5.7k camera that captures in 360-degrees, improved slow-motion and the leading standard in gimbal-less stabilisation, Insta360’s FlowState, the One X leaps ahead of everything else, laying the foundations for greater content creation.
5.7K, 18 Megapixel Camera
It Looks So Good360 video requires some mean resolution specs to keep up with every angle being captured, but keeping up with you. The Insta360 One X shoots in 5.7k (30fps), 4K (50fps) for dynamic scenes and 100fps in 3K for extra crisp, perfect shots in slow-motion.
Taking photos with the 18MP resolution and enhanced low-light performance brings en-chanted photos to life when uploaded to a platform that supports 360 images.
No ShakesIntroduced on the Insta360 Pro 2, FlowState is a stabilisation technology built by Insta360 to ensure that your 360 content is viewable without issue on anything from your phone screen to a VR headset. Now, they’re bringing it to a smaller device with the One X, giving your faster paced, more mobile content a smooth look without the need to invest in a gimbal system, which can often get in the way of the 360 imaging.
Shoot, then pointWhat’s the point in shooting 360-degrees if you have to line up a shot before you shoot? With Insta360’s app, you can capture the moment without skipping a beat. Then, once you’ve settled to get your video live on social media, you can focus in on what really happened.
TimeShiftInsta360 have implemented TimeShift, a new way to adjust the speed of your clip at different intervals, to really nail in the impact or emphasise the moment in a way that you see fit, without having to go into a full-blown video editor.
Selfie Stick RemovalInsta360 know that using a selfie stick with your One X is going to be important. Capturing from way up high or from a different position than in your close vicinity can start to get a little stagnant, but the issue with previous 360 cameras is that the stick gets in the way of the stitching. Now, the One X can remove the selfie stick from scenes to give an illusion of it floating in the air, especially when combined with the official Insta360 Selfie Stick that reaches up to 10ft.
3K Bullet Time, HDR and GPS
Higher Quality Bullet TimeUsually when shooting on a device like this, slow motion video is rendered at a reduced quality to make room for the copious amounts of frames needed to achieve the effect. With the original One camera, you could attach it to an included wire and 1/20” mount plug, swinging around you for an amazing bullet time effect. This returns with the One X. But in 3K. At 100fps, the slow motion shot by the One X is richer, crisp and higher quality than a lot of other action cameras doing similar effects on the market today, putting it one step ahead of the rest.
HDRWith a 360-degree camera, the One X is seeing from all angles and so, it needs to be able to take on various lighting conditions with an impressive dynamic range. This is combined with HDR, images settings like ISO and shutter speed, making the One X perfect for time lapses, hyper lapses and timed shots.
GPSThere’s also an optional bluetooth remote control, the One X can be controlled from a distance without the need for the app, while also automatically recording GPS data for video and photos. With this metadata in place, you can easily upload it to Google Maps Street View, add it to certain dashboard videos for more granular information.
Extras for your Action Camera
Never be without your camera again, as the Insta360 One X now features a removable battery for you to hotswap when your other goes flat.
With the Charging Station, the Insta360 One X can be ready to go again in about an hour, with two slots for batteries, so you can be sure to never be out of action.
The Insta360 One X Venture Case is designed to take on whatever action you want. From skiing to skateboarding, the Venture Case ensures that your camera is fully protected from any accidents or gnarly falls you might have while capturing your sick tricks.
Bullet Time Handle
The original One featured fish wire to achieve the bullet time effect by swinging about your head. With the One X, attaching this handle and tripod combination to your selfie stick will let you swing it around for a better, smoother effect and with the support of the both items, rather than fish wire.
