Insta360 EVO: New Depths

Another DimensionWith the Insta360 One X being the perfect addition for those wanting an action camera that can truly capture everything, Insta360 wanted to look… deeper. Building on the 5.7K 360 video and 18MP the One X can produce, the new Insta360 EVO combines everything that makes the One X an incredible 360 camera and brings it into another dimension: VR180.
Design

360 to 180Taking the shape of cube, the EVO takes monoscopic 360 images like you'd expect from the brand, all with the amazing FlowState stabilisation that utilises gyroscopes to give it a gimbal-like quality when things get a little shaky. But the EVO folds out on a heavy duty hinge and once the unlock button is pressed, it expands out into a flat rectangle to begin producing stereo 3D 180-degree video and photos.

180 Degree Video

Do a 180The way the 180-degree video works is by overlaying two different depths on top of each other, which when combined with a VR headset or Insta360's new HoloFrame - an external screen cover that creates the 3D effect without the need for glasses - you get video and images that enhance the VR experience by giving you an additional dimension.
VR Headset Integration

Delivery Made EasyWith FlowState in place, this gives a whole new method of creating VR180 content, letting you move about with the risk of making your VR audience throw up. You'll also be able to place your content into a headset, whether Oculus Go, HTC VIVE Focus and Samsung Gear VR with Insta360's new VR app that works directly on the headsets by connecting to the camera for wireless playback and transfer.
Adobe x Insta360

Editing Made Easy Insta360 and Adobe's partnership has continued to flourish, with direct support for 180-degree 3D VR support within Adobe Premiere Pro. Transfer and skip the stitching (only needed if you want to!), edit and export out to whatever platform you want! You'll also be able to still do the same with the 360 footage that the device captures.
HDR, Tiny Planet and Timeshift

Classic ModesHDR, Tiny Planet and Timeshift return, letting you create amazing looking sped up hyperlapses and cinematic slow-motion, which you can then direct the perspective with to direct the view of your audience to something amazing. This also means that outside of VR, you can actually just point and shoot without having to worry about framing the shot, as you can just do it in post.
