Product Overview

SSD & SATA HDD Converter

Introducing the ICY DOCK EZConvert MB882SP-1S-2B: another milestone in our 2.5” SSD product line. Through manufacturing efficiency, we have managed to redesign the original MB882SP-1S-1B without any sacrifice to our standard of high quality products. The new version is lighter weight for simplicity and cost efficiency. It is very convenient for gamers and power users who expect SSD speed on their home/ office computers. Some other new elements to the converter are viewing slots placed over the SATA connection, allowing the user to verify their HDD or SSD has made a secure connection. This also functions as an extra set of airflow vents for extra cooling with your SSD or HDD. Overall, a lightweight and simplistic design that is perfect for power users, gamers, and average computer users for use in their desktops, media centers, and home servers.

Important – Please Note:

This particular device is designed to fully support any standard 2.5" SATA 9.5mm height SSDs or HDDs. For 2.5" drives that are 5mm to 7mm in height (e.g Samsung 840 SSD), the tool-less drive load may not work properly. Performing a manual install into the device is an alternative method to provide better compatibility.

Features
• Converts your 2.5” SATA HDD or SSD to a 3.5” SATA hard drive, for 3.5” SATA drive bay usage.
• Support SATA 6Gbps or SAS 3.0 12Gbps (single channel)
• Compatible with Most 3.5” HDD Backplanes and Hot Swap Devices.
• Universal mounting holes for most common PC case.

ICY DOCK MB882SP-1S-2B HDD Converter, Converts 2.5" SATA into a 3.5" SATA HDD is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful for mounting 2.5'' drives in servers with 3.5'' HDD bays Using these to convert 2.5'' form factor disks to 3.5'' form factor, for use in HP Proliant server 3.5'' drive brackets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Neat little box to house SSD Have not used it yet, seems well built, if a little difficult to open the first time, one does not wish to "force open" a lid which is a bit reluctant. The main test will be when I have purchased the SSD and try to interface inside an Icy Box IB 553 HDD tower.
