Reviews
Icy Box IB-864-B 3.5" 6x Slot Card Reader with multiport front panel inc 3x USB 2.0, 1x eSATA and 1x USB 3.0 is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from I've had 2 of these that have failed I have had 2 of these over the past 2 years and both have failed. The sockets gradually became intermittent and eventually stopped working. Now the second unit has stopped working completely after 18 months. I am going to try a different make. I find the idea of a 'USB Bay' peripheral useful.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from detail in desription could be improved. Disappointed. The USB3 port on the facia has a lead with a USB connector which has to be plugged into, presumably, a USB3 port, which dosn't really make a lot of sense. To make use of USB3 I asume you need that facility on your motherboard, with either a 19 pin connector on the board itself, or a USB3 port on the connection block, so why not put a 19 pin connector on the lead and plug it straight onto the motherboard, thus giving you 2 USB3 outlets..

Questions & Answers

Icybox IB-864-B and Windows 10

I have one of these Icybox card reader which apparently works OK, but the SD card reader slot hasn't worked since upgrading to Windows 10 although all the USB ports work. I'm not alone with this problem. There is no help on the IcyBox website. The card is recognised by the reader (the blue drive LED lights up) but the card doesn't appear in Windows Explorer or indeed in Device Manager so I suspect this needs a driver. Any ideas?
