Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never goes above 50C no matter what i bought this item a good few months ago and i must say it has been worth it, currently running a 2100mhz Overclock and it never goes above 50 no matter the load, thinking of picking up another for SLI after i get my 4k monitor

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Finally found a card without loud coil whine. still have it but it's quiet and acceptable. Before RMA 2x cards, evga superclocked. So overall this board expensive but quality is great. recommended

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No VR front Panel Please be aware that at the moment this doesn't come with the VR link panel which it talks about in the description which makes the 2 HDMI ports on the inside of the card almost redundant - you cant buy it separately either it seems. Kind of ruined the whole experience for me. "Equipping Your GTX 1080 GPU For VR Offers 2 x HDMI ports on the inside of your 1080 gaming card for convenient access to your VR device. Rated 5 out of 5 by from great gpu Had the GPU running now for a number of weeks so had plenty time to test it. End of the day its a 1080 and any 1080 from the cheapest to the dearest is pretty much going to smash anything you throw at it. Your talking a few frames here and there. I think if your planning to run this card for 1080p gaming, its WAY overkill if there is such a thing. Probably better save yourself some money and go for 1070 or lower... This card is fantastic at maxing things out particularly at 1440p which is what I have been using for a while now. For all 1080 cards Im pretty sure this will be the case, not just this one. Just check youtube as there is plenty benchmarks for most new GPUs these days to get an idea what best suits. Besides the waffle, why I went for this card in particular is down to 2 reasons. It looks cool in the machine I have which is also a high end custom spec'd 3XS PC. Main reason, it runs virtually silent and is very low on temps. Idle for me in usually a warm room is about 25deg C. Max load under gaming with latest tittles, max I have seen is 55deg C. Software which you can download is brilliant to use. You can set everything to auto, for fan control, clocks etc. Or you can set things to custom and do the usual overclocking and manual fan settings. I run mine custom while gaming at 40% fan speed and its virtually silent. I have seen my temps lower whilst gaming, around 45deg C but the fan is cranked to 60% and that is "loudish". Under headset its "fine"... I guess it all comes down to how low you want your temps mixed with loudness of the fans. Summing up. Only con: It really is expensive compared to other 1080s. It's a luxury card when you can go for cheaper and it has the same outcome. Pros: Looks excellent if your into that thing. VERY low temps for a GPU. Build quality is really good, No flimsy parts. Easy to install, comes with everything you require to assemble apart from a screw driver. Software is fairly easy to find on their website and very easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Astonishing performance and build quality! Consider me an enthusiast PC builder, who has spent thousands and thousands upgrading my PC over many years. So far, my current PC would probably stand at £3500 with everything included such as peripherals, so trust me when I say I speak very highly of this product. I have always wanted to stay away from custom looped water cooling because the maintenance on them is quite high and leaks are a factor of life, so I enjoy closed loop products as they offer a form of protection with their warranty. If they leak and take your PC with them, you have a leg to stand on and claim your money back. However, you won't be worrying about leaks with this product. The build quality alone sets this product apart from it's competitors, it is a solid, stylish piece of equipment, well packed into it's case and protected by a stylish and solid looking back-plate. The non reference board offers HUGE power delivery. If you think about it, it already offers 280 watts of power draw at stock compared to the founder edition, that offers 265 watts. Couple that with the fact you can increase that power draw by 50%, yes you read that right, compared that to the founders editions 20%, and you have a huge amount of power to play with when it comes to extreme overclocking. The AIO cooling is also much better than other AIO coolers I have seen, and better than the hybrids, simply because it not only cools the GPU chip itself, but also the RAM and VRM. So you can be sure all areas of the card are being adequately cooled when under high over clocks. Considering the card is already quite highly clocked compared to the founders edition, I am having a hard time making this card break 50 degrees Celsius under load. I put the thing through a AIDA 64 stress test and it broke 50... by two degrees! 52 degrees is the highest I have made this card go, it's insane. The card will run at max boost clock under any scenario if you raise the power level to about 30% and temps will only raise slightly. Max boost clock on the card running at sock is 2050. You may be able to push that to 2.1Ghz without any increase in voltage. Results may vary though. My second card can only do 2088 at stock while my main can do 2.12Ghz without voltage increase. At this moment in time, raising the voltage is not possible. The card is capable of voltage up to 1.24, but currently no software can push it to that level as all 1080 cards seem stuck at 1.09? Come on nvidia, don't be like that. Let us juice these babies up. Once voltage control is unlocked, you could easily push this card to 2.2Ghz without too much trouble. 2.3-2.4 is possible on a modded BIOS, but I wouldn't go there unless you know what you are doing. You do not really need to worry about temps on this card, for you will reach your max overclock long before temps become a problem. This card is great for enthusiast system builders and avid over clockers, but also surprisingly welcoming to casual gamers. Just put it in your system (installation is as easy as eating cake) and you can enjoy ridiculous performance, arctic cold temps and the beautiful look of an incredibly stylish looking card in your system. You can make any build look professional just by putting one of these in your case. You can adjust the LED lighting on the card to any color you want, and program it to flash, breath etc. It also has a power indicator above the power connectors that will let you know if the power being fed to the card is stable or not. It also has two HDMI ports at the front of the card for VR headset use, nice! The only thing that bugs me about this card is that is has no dual BIOS??? Come on Gigabyte, dual BIOS should be mandatory on a card being marketed as an enthusiast/overclocking card. All in all, this is a solid purchase. Expensive, yes. You get what you pay for though. This is a solid piece of equipment that I find is worth the investment. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have uploaded a screen shot of my 3dmark score with a single card (the second card that can do 2088 max on the core). This was before I purchased my second GPU which I made my main one, simply because it could do slightly higher on the core as previously mentioned.
