Rated 1 out of 5 by Product Fualty and does not shtdown when commanded by OS. I have had problems with this product since I bought it in October last year. At first I thought it was Window 8.1 that was the culprit but the after installing Win 7 and Win 10 the same problem persists. Tried to get it resolved by Gigabyte but was told to return the product. How can I if I am using it for my daily work. Scan should not be selling products that area faulty an inconvenience to customers. 07 August 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by SLI didnt work at all I bought this motherboard specifically for an SLI machine, despite all my efforts it seemed I was unable to get windows to recognise I had a second card installed. I later tested with another ASUS motherboard and had no problems, worked first time.. so I dont believe this wasn't user error. Just a dodgy motherboard it seems, I wont buy Gigabyte products again, so far I've always had some weird quirk with them... 21 June 2015

Answer:
No update required, because this is a Z97 board, all Haswell refresh CPUs (such as the 4690k) are supported from the get-go.

Answer:
Looking on the Gigabyte website the CPU is accepted from the F5 Version of the bios. The f5 was released on 03/06/2014 . Now i dont know what is the revision of the board if it is 1.1 definetly will work..if it is 1.0 it can still work depend of the batch scan have in stock..so if it is a relatively after that date batch..definetly will work..if it is before posible u need the bios update.
