Ice Cold CoolingiCX Cooling set the standard, designed to detect everything to cool hotspots and used interactive cooling to give users peace of mind gaming by detecting temperatures at different points of the GPU including the baseplate, heatpipes, VRMs and memory and then adjusting asynchronous fans to provide the correct airflow for each area. EVGA then developed iCX2 to set the bar even higher built on the success of iCX technology iCX2 provides better thermal performance and much lower acoustic noise with ever facet of the cooling assembly receiving an upgrade.

Conductive Backplate

A.A new plate-punched design has improved the iCX2 baseplate's contact with all components and the heatsink. the material itself features better thermal conductivity with an increased performance of over 150% when compared to the previous iCX baseplate.

B.A heatpipe is placed directly onto the VRM area to quickly remove heat from the hottest area of the graphics card. iCX2 also features thermal pads over 165% more thermally-conductive, when compared to the original iCX baseplate.

Larger Thermal Contact Surface

A.New airflow pockets allow air to move more freely through the heatsink to remove more heat.

B.The heatspreader has improved contact with GPU in order to transfer more heat away from the GPU & baseplate. A larger more efficient heatpipe layout transfers more heat directly to the cooling fans.

C.The iCX2 heatsink features L-shaped fins to direct airflow around the card to the places that need cooling most.

D.iCX2 heatsinks feature up to 58% more fin area , which allows for better heat dissipation and increases the effectiveness of new iCX2 fans.

First HDB Fans

A.The embossed "E" on each fan creates a smoother slipstream of air across each fan.

B.iCX2 fans literally go in a different direction. Forward-swept blades and a clockwise rotation helps propel these fans to be more efficient and more effective when compared to the original iCX cooling system.

C.iCX2 includes the first Hydraulic Dynamic Bearing fan on an NVIDIA graphics card. Made with high-precision machining technology, HDB fans offer increased performance with a fraction of the noise compared to iCX fans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you have enough to buy the 2080/super, buy this instead. This gpu is packs everything you ever need in your gaming life. The fans literally rarely spin up at all and when they do they don't ramp up anywhere near max or even half its rpm. Never heard any noise from those fans. If you want to dabble in overclocking, the ample cooling supplied by its massive heat sink and 3 fans will be enough to push this gpu to its limits (while air cooled).
