EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 8GB GDDR5X VR Ready Graphics Card, 2560 Core, 1708MHz GPU, 1847MHz Boost is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent card One of the best cards I have owned for a long time
Date published: 2017-04-04
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too loud After the bios update to raise the fan speeds because of the missing thermal pads has become rather noisy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a card for 27 inch gaming.. This card runs nearly all modern games on maximum settings at 2560x1440. The fans are exceptionally quiet, much quieter than those on my previous card, the EVGA GTX 980 Ti SC ACX. This card is amazing as is the service and delivery time from Scan. Highly recommended if you want the best at the moment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems much more stable than the GTX 980 Ti I bought this to replace a GTX 980 Ti which was, in my opinion, an awful card. Playing any GPU intensive game resulted in a hard PC lockup perhaps 3-4 times per day, maybe once an hour. The reset meant a hard poweroff for the PC. Lots of finger pointing from the manufacturer and the game developers, but the fact that the problem ran across multiple games seems to indicate a problem with the card or the drivers. I eventually switched to a AMD Fury X which was rock steady but somewhat slower. The GTX 1080, which I adapted to a hybrid liquid cooled model, to stop my PC sounding like take-off time at Heathrow, seems to be rock solid. Now play all the same games in ultra detail with no problems whatsoever. Paired with an Acer Predator 27" XB1 4K monitor makes gaming a dream again. I'm not into VR (yet) so can't comment on it's performance there. All in all, this one seems like a great card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid I wanted a better-than-reference 1080gtx based card. I've not been disappointed in any way, shape, or form. Faultless so far. Just wish I could find some software that actually made it sweat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 980Ti to 1080 SC. Worth it? I pre-ordered this eVGA 1080 SC before Brexit and paid £578 with free shipping. Installed it last week after waiting 6 weeks. Using Precision X oc, I have got it stable at 2080mhz. However, My eVGA 980Ti Classified was a solid card and handled everything I threw at it. The eVGA 1080 SC sees only a 10% improvement on the 980Ti so before you buy, understand that any card lower than the 980Ti Classified will be a huge improvement. I'd wait until the 1080 Ti Classifieds come before swapping out your 980Ti Classifed. About the new eVGA 1080 SC? Excellent card and very well built piece of kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast but not furious Running this in an asus p8z77-v lx mobo with an i7 2600 (pulled out of a old HP machine) cooled by an Arctic Freezer i32 in a Corsair 400Q case I'm getting silky smooth VR with my Vive, and 200FPS in Doom with everything maxed out rendered at 1080p via the new vulkan drivers. The PSU is a 430W EVGA box, but I don't believe that's significant. The card seems to have been neatly optimized to bounce off the power limiter just as temperatures start to top out, which means you're getting the best possible performance without adding power and cooling. 4/5 for quality because I can't give it 4.9: I want to mention that the heat pipe and fin assembly sags very slightly at the end furthest from its sockets when in tower orientation, but to an extent that made me wonder if it could compromise thermal interfaces somewhere. I'll contact evga and ask them about it, but it doesn't seem to be having any adverse effect yet. I guess if you're looking to absolutely maximise performance you'd buy the FTW version of the card and dive into the pursuit of optimal settings, power (it has an additional 8 pin connection) and water cooling, but I'm looking for a relatively easy ride, and I got it. All I had to do was try a couple of case fan positions to optimise air flow past the card, evidenced in 3dmark results, showing that I was providing enough air for the card's stock cooler.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing graphics card Pro's: incredibly powerful card, best single GPU at the time of writing looks absolutely beautiful card is silent near 90% of the time absolutely monsters 1440p gamning, might need to upgrade to 4k so the 1080 can really strech its muscles Con's card is very long and barely fits in my enthoo evolv matx case, check compatability before you buy lighting on the side appears fairly dim through my case window clear protective wrap is attached under the screws making it a pig to remove
