EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING Blower Fan 8GB GDDR5X VR Ready Graphics Card, 2560 Core, 1607MHz GPU, 1733MHz Boost is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good PCB Got this on black friday for a great price as was looking for a reference PCB for watercoooling. EVGA have the best UK RMA so more than happy to go with them. The card is actually sturdier and nicer than I expected, there is metal on the stock heatsink shroud. It idles at around 36 degrees and yes the fan is audible when temps rise in the 80's. So don't get this card if you need silence. However if you just need a reference/FE PCB for watercooling this is ideal and highly recommended. Mine maintains stable core clocks of 2126 MHz and +600MHz on the memory (Watercooled) so overclocks well/just like any other 1080 core.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expectations exceeded vastly I bought card in November 2016, after my 3XS bundle and Thermaltake Core-P3 (i7-6800K (4.25 GHz), 32 GB RAM @ 3 GHz, Asus X99A-II) and before my Acer Predador XB281HK, which I all bought from scan. The performance on 1080p was just incredible. I was hitting frames I had never experienced before and there was no limit the came under with performance. Everything at max settings. I then bought a 4K G-Sync (60Hz) monitor to future proof my rig. I did worry that the GTX 1080 might not cut the mustard and 4K resolution would be too much demand for the card. I understood most consumers would opt for 1440p monitors with high framerates for a good balance of visual aesthetics and gaming performance. However, I couldn't wait for the 1080 Ti a couple of months later and expected the power consumption needed to fuel that particular beast would be too much for my Seasonic 750W PSU, also from scan. I was also considering SLI in the future, so that 2x 1080 Ti would be too much and might make my system unstable, which I wanted to avoid. I settled for this card as it was one of the cheapest in the GTX 1080 range; no frills, no fancy over the top cooling (I didn't like the look of massive heat sinks and fans and slithers of coloured plastic to sell the cards). Delivery was quick and installation was straightforward. The card is 10.5 inches long, which is big, but for the open design of the Core P3 it was no problem. It ran everything I threw at it. I couldn't believe it. 8M pixels, 4x as much as 1080p resolution, and I am getting very good frame rates. On new games (e.g. The Division, DOOM, DOW3) I was getting great frames at maximum settings (that's right peope: every setting was MAXED). I used the EVGA Precision XOC software (free on steam), and at default settings it seemed to have unlocked the basic factory clock settings, which provided a performance boost, to my delight. I can hit over 1900 MHz with ease, and even hit just over 2000 MHz clock: way beyond the factory settings after safely adjusting the settings, using good youtube video advice. I can play DOOM at 60 fps max setting (Vulkan), 40-45 fps on The Division, and 50+ fps on DOW3 max settings. Since I bought the card, Nvidia drivers are regular (almost fortnightly) which adds boosts to the cards performance each time. Bear in mind I've been an avid ATI low to mid card range consumer, and for the first Nvidia card I wanted the best but with good cost effectiveness. I am seriously considering purchasing the same card for SLI, knowing that at 4K, the extra GTX 1080 card can really make a difference, which will make gaming even more beautiful now, but I can future proof myself without spending big money on an over the top 1080 or 1080 Ti models. Fully recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best enthusiast GPU's out there. This is the first time I have had to upgrade my gaming rig in almost 5 years of building it. My GTX 680 could handle a lot of games at max settings when it was fresh out of the box. But as is the nature of most hardware, with the advent of beefier games, my old GPU began to really show its age. Forcing me to use Medium (or worst case scenario, low) graphics settings in order to merely play them at a stable frame-rate at 1080p. I figured if I was going to upgrade, I would treat myself as well as future-proof my PC with one of the best GPU's on the market. Installation was pretty quick and easy both on the hardware and software side of things. Once I got my new card up and running, I was quite honestly blown away by the improvements. This thing absolutely crushes all of the games I own, cranked up to max settings at 1080p without even breaking a sweat. The GPU is extremely quiet as well, barely making a sound during my gaming sessions. Although I know the Ti variant is more powerful, the price cuts on this model as a result makes it worth even more value for your money. I don't really plan on trying out VR or investing in a 1440p or even a 4k monitor anytime soon. So I would recommend checking out other reviews for info on how this card handles those things. But with the benchmark tests I've done and how it handles the AAA games I own right now on a 1080p monitor, I am certain I am gonna get at least 5 years out of this thing. Possibly more. If you want a powerful graphics card at quite a reasonable price, this fully gets my recommendation. 5/5!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I picked up two of these in the Black Friday sale to use for GPU rendering with Octane. They get pretty hot in my build (92°C) when they're running at 100% for a while) but the system's never crashed even at that load for some time while rendering. I'm not a huge PC gamer, but so far they've handled everything I can throw at them. Just wish I'd got a third one as well :)
