Rated 3 out of 5 by from A good card but ... beware EVGAs returns policy Be warned, EVGA now insist that faulty cards are returned to them directly and at YOUR expense. Mine failed in the first month and it takes around two weeks to replace since you have to get an RMA from EVGA in the US which takes about three days and then return it to them. A replacement is sent from Germany by UPS surface mail and takes about another week. It has cost me £25 to send the card back with the high cost of insurance on these items and EVGA may yet try and charge me for the return postal cost. This is not a criticism of Scan who normally replace without question promptly. I would be wary of purchasing EVGA products while this policy exists.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not cheap but saves the pain of trying to find a decent/compatible waterblock I like my machines to run quietly and efficiently. I don't play loads of games but when I do, I want them to run at a decent quality and framerate. It's a tall order to want performance, efficiency and low-noise, but that's what I wanted. My previous card was an EVGA GeForce GTX 560, which was chosen partly due to the manufacturer's warranty allowing the heatsink/fan to be replaced with an alternative (or, in my case, a waterblock). This sufficed for a particular game I was playing a lot at the time, but it struggled with some of the more demanding titles. It was awkward to find a compatible waterblock for the 560 as it didn't follow the reference design, so I opted for a GPU-only one and added heatsinks on the RAM chips. Not ideal, but it worked. When the time came to upgrade, I decided to go for the best GeForce card I could find, so I got this. Unfortunately my PSU wasn't up to the job (wrong connectors) so I upgraded that as well to a semi-fanless one. The fact this card has a waterblock pre-fitted makes integration with my cooling loop a lot easier. Whilst the "liquid coolers" on modern systems is definitely better than pure heatsink/fan solutions, I prefer to use a single loop covering several components along with a large passive radiator - i.e. no fans on it. Temperatures are higher in such configuration (as expected with passive cooling), but the entire system remains stable and almost entirely silent even when playing games. Performance-wise, well, I don't play a variety of different games - at the moment Overwatch is my game of choice and whacking everything up to ultra/epic/max detail and so on, I get about 60fps at 1920x1080. The ability to capture a video spanning the last few minutes of gameplay is really useful (though a good way to fill up your disk quickly!) Physically, the card build quality seems great. It's pretty heavy (due to the waterblock, presumably) and will droop slightly once inserted into the motherboard. Probably a good idea to take the card out if you take the PC in a car etc. at any point to avoid damaging the slot. Power consumption is a lot less with this card compared to the previous one. With a 1,000W semi-fanless PSU the whole system barely draws enough power to require the fan to spin. I'd imagine more demanding games might require more power and produce more heat but so far I'm pretty impressed with the card.
