Every facet of the Aeon Flow’s design, from the elegant shaping of the earcups, right through to the extremely lightweight nitinol headband and breath-taking performance of the in-house designed planar drivers, was thought impossible by many to improve upon, but…Dan Clark Audio have done just that with their new flagship ‘Aeon 2’ closed-back headphones.

Dan Clark Audio’s ‘AEON 2’ is much more than a minor upgrade to it’s predecessor, it’s a complete overhaul in terms of performance and technology. Dan and his team had taken what was learnt after engineering one of the most lauded and celebrated flagship headphones of 2018, the ‘Ether 2’, and completely reimagined the new ‘Aeon 2’ driver from scratch using the ‘Ether 2’s groundbreaking ‘art motor’ technology.
New features in the ‘Aeon 2’ include...
• Updated driver structure flipped 180 degrees to remove magnet and flow structures from the diaphragm to the ear.
• Streamlined flow elements converted to a single construction, removing air gaps to improve internal airflow.
• Higher precision machined flow structures replace injection molded parts.
• Superior driver damping for improved resolution, dynamics and a smoother frequency response.
• New voicing, with a warmer, fuller tone for the closed, a leaner lower midrange for the open, and a much larger soundstage for both models.
The results of this new technology mean that the Aeon 2 renders audio with a deep, intense impact, visceral bass, transparent mids and top end that is presented in incredible detail.
New Travel-Friendly Design
NEW SUPER EFFICIENT FOLDING MECHANISM
The guys at Dan Clark Audio understand that musicians and engineers often have to travel…a lot, and take their projects and work with them as they go. When looking upon things to improve upon from the ‘Aeon’, it was thought that perhaps the case, although tough, rugged and offered superb protection, was a little too bulky and difficult to travel with.
So, Dan Clark's engineers decided that for the Aeon 2, they'd create a headphone and protective case which was much easier to travel with. They succeeded...Dan’s engineers had fantastic results when tasked with designing a travel friendly design for the Aeon 2. The Aeon 2’s impressive and efficient folding mechanism actually improves the clamping, fit, feel and structural integrity of the whole headphone.
This design is featured on both the Closed-back and Open-back versions of the Aeon 2.

There can be no doubt that the Aeon 2 is a beautiful piece of equipment, and naturally, you’ll want to keep your Aeon 2’s in pristine condition. When travelling often, this can be difficult to do so.
Fortunately, Dan Clark’s magnificent engineers didn’t stop working their magic when they’d finished designing the Aeon 2, they also designed a custom travel case. This form fitting case also has room for your cable of choice and will take up only half the space the previous Aeon case did. Impressive!
