The only single issue that caused a bit of a headache with this was when trying to install windows ....
Maybe it is a thing that has been common recently and so I would never know about it (been away a while from building my own PC), but installing Windows took far longer than it should as you need to load USB 3 drivers to the windows disk; so had to create an ISO of my windows disk to add some drivers to the ISO before re-burning windows. Unless apparently you use a USB disc drive with the ASUS driver disk and windows disc ... that didn't work ... The manual explains it all, but the software was cumbersome to use.
Was a faff and the only downside!
Apart from that, board is faultless, takes all the ram that was thrown at it, packs high end gaming into a tiny space (my requirement), the BIOS is brilliant and seems to give more options than one would ever need. All the LED lighting is nice and the logo illumination is a nice thing; although I do love a little LED action; shame it is all covered up by graphics cards!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Xander Worked flawlessly
I've installed many motherboards but this has to take the prize of easiest build to date. The UEFI is a mine field of options but the "EZ Mode" makes things simple.
Every setting has worked fine and even when I managed to make the boot drive unworkable I reset to defaults and it's back working fine again.
It also has many more fan connections than your average M-ATX board with proper fan control, though I do wish it could be related to other components through the software. Oh and thus far speedfan has refused to cooperate with it which is a minor flaw.
The only down side has been that the "pop" protection on the sound seems to have introduced a pop...which is odd.
Gaming wise, it's fast and keeps the temperatures down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Armin Great motherboard, very reliable
A really solid motherboard overall. The board has very high quality chokes and also performs well when put under heavy usage. One down side is that it does not have on board Wi-Fi, but for what it is, it is a fantastic mATX board.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Joesnr Excellent Product
The Asus ROG Maximus Gene III is a quality product that fitted my HP 490 Mini Tower perfectly.
The supplied software also installed OK and I was up and running in good time. I am still familiarising with the functions but the following are still to be resolved.
1) The fan control doesn't always work. There's a rather annoying icon on the lower left of the screen for fan control and it will not respond.
2) I was unable to connect my front panel SD card readers because there was no socket on the motherboard - it appears to have been replaced by a custom pin-out for gaming. I think it could be used but I don't know how.
Other than these minor niggles everything works fine and I am very pleased with the product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sanman Poor finish for the price
I cannot write a good review on this average product because Scan's rubbish text checker thinks I am some how using foul language. Oh well, I cannot warn anyone.
