Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value and performance. Can overclock. This motherboard is a good choice for those who wish to build a respectable AMD Ryzen based machine without spending too much money. I have managed to get my R7 1700 to 3.9GHz on 1.35V stable (mostly because I don't want to try push it any further). This result may slightly improve when using the X370 chipset motherboards, as they generally have better voltage regulator modules and better phase design. That's good for users who wish to maintain stable overclocks for long periods of time. The PCIe slots on this motherboard are sturder than previous motherboards I've owned, which prevents the sagging of my long Zotac GTX 1070 graphics card. This is nice for two reasons - it prevents potential damage to the card and slot, and it looks more visually appealing than a sagging card. The PCIe slots also have red LEDs on the small levers which close the slots. This is a nice touch for red and black themed builds. The other slots do not have LEDs. As for RAM compatibility, for all AMD Ryzen systems (as of the time of writing this review), I recommend using DDR4 RAM which is no faster than 2666MHz. Faster RAM may work, but a reasonable number of users including myself could not get the system to boot when the RAM frequency is set higher than 2666MHz, even on motherboards and RAM rated for those higher frequencies. This is perhaps a teething problem which might be solved by future BIOS updates. A few points to nitpick: - I do not like the placement of the motherboard's CMOS battery. It is below and slightly to the left of the CPU socket, which can be inconvenient to get to if you wanted to remove or replace it while a large CPU cooler is installed. Not that I've needed to, but it's something to keep in mind. I would prefer to see this nearer to the bottom-right corner of the motherboard. - The NVME slot, while a welcome sight, is also placed slightly awkwardly, being directly between the CPU socket and the first PCIe slot. This makes it a bit awkward to plug in/remove NVME SSDs while a large CPU cooler and/or an obtrusive graphics card are installed. I would prefer to have this slot nearer to the bottom of the motherboard or on the back of the motherboard as some other Gigabyte motherboards do. That being said, I do like seeing my NVME drive on the front of the board to show it off. - I would prefer to see larger heatsinks on the VRMs surrounding the CPU socket, just for aesthetic appeal. Other than the issues of personal preference, this is a great value motherboard.

Version of BIOS

What's the current version of the BIOS on this MB? I want to buy this MB but I don't know if Ryzen 5 is supported out of the box or I've to do a BIOS update.
