Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast It is here and it is mighty impressive! RX Vega 56 is faster than the alternative, by up to 9% with the balanced power mode (210watts). Runs reasonably quiet, default fan speed is 400rpm up to 2400rpm. No problems for PC gaming with speakers at those settings, even with the reference fan design. Freesync monitors rejoice and 2K gaming is a breeze. It can't be all perfect and yes, there is a snag: the GPU has been set up for business buyers (users) and Compute and OpenGL workloads - this means a bit extra effort for PC gamers seeking to get the maximum performance for their money. As everyone knows: with Compute and OpenGL workloads - the memory gets hammered and becomes toasty - requiring downclocking of memory or higher fan curves for business users. And, because the HBM2 is next to the GPU core, it appears AMD decided to push extra voltages into the GPU core (to make it run hotter) and this gets the fan curve to ramp up to higher RPMs and cool down the HBM2 when a Compute or OpenGL workload is running. As every PC gamer should know, when playing a PC game - the GPU core gets hammered and runs hotter, whilst the memory remains cooler. The exact opposite of what a business configuration requires. Overclocking and undervolting for PC gaming will get you an extra 9.3% in performance. In Wattman, set a custom profile: set P6 and P7 states to 1030; add 100mhz to HMB2 speed; move powertune to plus 50%; make the fan curve 400rpm up to 3000rpm. Takes 2 minutes to do and now RX Vega 56 is up to 18.3% faster than the alternative. The card will draw an extra 13watts (223watts) during PC gaming! Should want to use AMD's Frame limiter at 70 to 60 FPS (for monitor with lower refresh rates) with Enhanced Sync (lower latency), you will need to reduce the GPU temperature target in Wattman to 67C from its default of 75C with the undervolt and overclock, because the fan spins up to cool down the HBM2 is set to the GPU core temperature. However, this overclock and undervolting is not covered under the warranty - some people may simply be happy enough with it being up to 9% faster than the alternative with the warranty. Should this be the case, make sure you get it at the recommended price or with the pack including the 2 free games.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great card let down by pricing I was able to snag this for the original MSRP for just under £390 making this a steal, now that the extra £100 has been put on I'm honestly not sure i'd pay that much for it. The card preforms great with the 1440p freesync monitor I've got for it and runs everything i throw at it with ease. The below firestrike screenshot should give you an idea of it's out of the box performance. I plan on getting a waterblock to add it to my customer loop and i'll try and remember to update this with the results once it's under water and OC'd

I bought this item but i cannot find a motherboard that runs it please help

Hello, PCIe 2.0 or 3.0 is required with one x16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard in order for the card to be compatible. Almost any motherboard we have currently in stock has PCIe 3.0 available for this card. Regards,
