Product Overview The advent of Blu-ray technology has led to the introduction of high capacity storage discs to meet the demand cause by the rapid growth of high definition television (HDTV).

Blu-ray discs get their name from blue laser technology. The shorter wavelength of the laser is the reason it is blue in colour. The blue laser has a wavelength of 405nm compared with the wavelength of 650nm for DVD which utilises red laser technology. The benefit of having a blue laser with a shorter wavelength means it is possible to write smaller data pits and therefore vastly increase the amount of data on the disc.

Blu-ray discs offer 3 to 5 times the storage capacity of a standard recordable DVD disc, enabling the recording, rewriting and playback of high definition video (HD).

For use only in drives or recorders that support Blu-ray Discs without cartridge.

Laser Wavelength: 405nm. Hard Coat protective layer. Extremely long archival life. Excellent playback performance. BD-R is for use in BD writers and recorders.

The Wide White Inkjet disc has a white surface for inkjet printing up to the hub with printable diameter 21-118mm.

50pcs Cakebox Verbatim 43812 BD-R SL Datalife 25GB 6x Inkjet Printable is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A quality disc no coasters so far. I've been using Aone Blu Ray discs for many years for backing up data but I'm having trouble finding them so I decided to give the Kodak and Verbatim discs a try. I bought a 50 of each. I'm half way through the Verbatim ones burning at X4 speed and I've had a perfect burn every time wheras the Kodak ones which are 5 pounds cheaper just won't work on my computer. So the extra 10p a disc is worth paying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gr8 I bought the 50 pk over 2 x 25pk just because they're better value. As a storage medium I have to say they are reliable and the quality is constant. 24 x episodes of a 40 minute per episode of a tv series on one disk is so much better than DVD and these are of high quality recordings from my Panasonic BluRay HD tv recorder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from still the best in my mind been using these for years. apart from taiyo yuden dvr's and some Panasonic archive 50gb discs these are the only discs I trust with my data.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for data or video work too I've always found Verbatim discs reliable & have used them for many years now - for those who seem to get "coasters" I suggest they make sure their Burner firmware is up to date and they are using a good quality software package to do the Burning,... last coaster produced circa the year 2000..If I remember rightly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good as always A very good product, arrived on time as is only to be expected from Scan.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing for Verbatim My BDR 208D (latest firmware) has burned over 100 of the cheapest TDK discs without a hiccup, I've had 3 coasters in the first 20 of these burned so far. Plus sides, the print finish on them is excellent and I'm sure if it's the usual Verbatim finish then they'll be very tough and resistant to wear. Just can't recommend them at over 10% failure rate.
