3TB Seagate IronWolf ST3000VN007 NAS Hard Drive, 3.5" HDD, SATA III 6Gb/s, 5900RPM, 64MB Cache is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of a pair Bought as a mate to my earlier purchased 3TB Iron Wolf, these two drives are happily bumbling along in my Synology NAS. Very happy with the drives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Initial View: Works well in a T20 Home Server in RAID6 A proper opinion on hard-drives can only be formed over time. It has now been a little over one month after installation, which is not necessarily enough to provide a good proper picture, so this is, in some ways, just an initial review/observation. Using 4 drives on a Linux mdadm RAID6 array in a Dell T20 (with a Pentium and an extra PCIe SATA card), I saw 80-100MB/s write speeds over 1GBit/s Ethernet when re-copying my files - so the performance is definitely adequate in a NAS/home server setup. I am under the impression that the IronWolfs perform better than the Barracuda drives they replaced (of which two had eventually failed), but I never benchmarked the former to obtain a comparison. As the IronWolf drives are 'only' 5900rpm, the T20 is now quiet, as opposed to the previous 7200rpm Barracuda drives which made the T20 vibrate. (Apparently a common issue...) This was one of the reasons I was looking for a slower rpm drive, and the IronWolf fits the desired specification. The real assessment will be in the long term performance and for that it is currently too early. As of now I am 100% happy with the drives.
