Product Overview

Engineered for Enterprise

Unleash the power of innovative storage with the Micron 9550 PRO U.2 SSD – a breakthrough in PCIe Gen5 speed and efficiency. Built for the most challenging AI and data centre workloads, it enables organisations to process massive data sets with industry-leading performance and energy efficiency. AI workloads demand more than ever, and sequential and random performance are critical to ensuring GPUs stay active. The Micron 9550 PRO keeps them busier for longer, removing bottlenecks that can hold back advanced applications.

Built for Demanding Workloads

Compliance with the Open Compute Project (OCP) 2.0 (r21) standards enhances interoperability, simplifies qualification, and speeds deployment, while support for OCP 2.5 telemetry brings powerful data logging for improved optimisation and diagnostics. Reliability is engineered into the drive with features including power loss protection and end-to-end data path protection.

Comprehensive Security

Security is equally comprehensive, with SPDM 1.2 device security, Micron’s Secure Execution Environment (SEE), and self-encrypting drive (SED) options. Hardware root of trust is built in, alongside support for secure erase and secure boot. For regulated industries, FIPS 140-3 Level 2 and TAA compliant options are available, ensuring compliance without sacrificing performance. Additional features such as RAIN, TRIM and SMART further extend its enterprise-ready design.

Reliable by Design

The Micron 9550 PRO U.2 operates between 0°C and 70°C, with a mean time to failure of 2.5 million hours for long-term dependability. Endurance scales by capacity, while sequential operations consume up to 18W on reads and 16W on writes, delivering a balance of high throughput and energy efficiency. Compact and dependable at 100.45 x 70.10 x 15mm and weighing just 183–188g, it is backed by a five-year manufacturer’s warranty, ensuring confidence in every deployment.

The arrival of the solid-state drive (SSD) has revolutionised the speed at which modern PCs perform common tasks. This is because SSDs have no moving parts, compared to larger, bulkier mechanical drives, thus they store information on memory chips. This means that accesses, reads and writes are many, many times faster

Perhaps the best PC innovation in the last 10 years has been the solid-state drive (SSD) used to store the operating system and programs on your computer. SSDs have begun to replace the older mechanical disks as the primary storage for the PC and it's not hard to see why.

One of the greatest advances for PCs in recent years has been the introduction of solid-state drives (SSD). These storage drives hold information on flash memory that is managed by a processing chip called a controller. Advantages of SSDs over traditional spinning disks are numerous, from silent operation, lower power to significantly faster performance.
