Intel Optane H10 512GB with 32GB Optane Memory and QLC 3D NAND
Combining Intel Optane low-latency memory technology with high-density Intel QLC 3D NAND in a single M.2 2280 module, the Intel Optane H10 512GB with Solid State Storage provides a hybrid storage solution designed to accelerate frequently accessed data while retaining the capacity benefits of NAND flash storage. This configuration combines 32GB of Intel Optane Memory with 512GB of Intel QLC 3D NAND, delivering up to 2,300MB/s sequential read speeds and up to 1,300MB/s sequential write speeds over a PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe interface. Intel designed the H10 for PC, client, and tablet applications where fast access and high-capacity storage are required in a compact form factor.
Hybrid Optane and NAND Storage
The H10 combines two complementary storage technologies on a single M.2 module, pairing 32GB of low-latency Intel Optane Memory with 512GB of Intel QLC 3D NAND. The Optane portion is designed to accelerate frequently accessed data, while the QLC NAND provides the larger storage capacity, creating a hybrid solution that combines responsive access with substantial storage space.
High-Speed PCIe NVMe Performance
Using a PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe interface, the H10 delivers sequential read speeds of up to 2,300MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 1,300MB/s. Random performance reaches up to 320,000 IOPS for 4K random reads and 250,000 IOPS for 4K random writes, providing responsive performance across a range of client storage workloads.
Compact M.2 2280 Form Factor
The H10 uses a standard M.2 22 x 80mm form factor, allowing the combined Optane and NAND storage technologies to occupy a compact footprint. Weighing less than 10g, the module is suited to compatible PCs, client systems, and tablets where space-efficient storage is important.
Efficient Power Characteristics
The H10 is designed with power efficiency in mind, drawing up to 5.8W during active operation and less than 13mW in L1.2 idle power state. This combination of high-speed NVMe connectivity and low idle power consumption makes the drive suitable for systems where storage performance and energy efficiency are both important.
Data Protection and Monitoring
Enhanced power-loss data protection and end-to-end data protection help safeguard data during operation, while integrated temperature monitoring and logging provide additional system information. The H10 also has an MTBF rating of 1.6 million hours and an uncorrectable bit error rate of less than one sector per 10^15 bits read.
Endurance and Reliability
The 512GB H10 configuration has an Intel-rated endurance of 150TBW, providing a defined lifetime write specification for the drive. It operates across a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, with Intel specifying an operating shock rating of up to 1,000G for 0.5ms.
Compatibility
The Intel Optane H10 uses a PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe interface and M.2 2280 form factor, but compatibility is more specific than a conventional NVMe SSD because the Optane Memory portion requires appropriate platform and BIOS support. Intel states that not all Optane-ready motherboards support the H10, so the system or motherboard manufacturer should be consulted to confirm compatibility before installation. The H10 was designed for PC, client, and tablet applications and is now a discontinued Intel product.
