Reinforcement of TurboWrite Technology
Samsung was the first one to introduce TurboWrite technology to sequential write performance in the early stages of the 840 EVO Series. With TurboWrite Technology, write speeds have been significantly accelerated during data transfer by creating a high-performance write buffer in an SSD. If a consecutive write operation (i.e. no idle time) exceeds the size of a buffer, the transfer will exit TurboWrite and be processed at ”After TurboWrite” speeds. Once the buffer is cleared, the TurboWrite performance will resume. However, since the buffer size for TurboWrite is more than sufficient for everyday computer use, users can experience accelerated speeds for most workloads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from super quick !! this turned my alienware 15 R1 from a corsa to a purring ferrari !! what a diffrence this does as i was running everything on the 1tb hdd before i got this,windows boot time is the blink of an eye and surfing internet etc is now a pleasure as it was really slow before,use the 1tb just for games now and keep this for windows stuff,one of the best upgrades ive done

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goes like a stabbed rat I was getting bored of waiting for Windows to start up on standard HDD, so decided to swap to SSD. My system board supports M.2 and this one was a hot seller, that always seems to swing my decisions for some reason, maybe it's a cute marketing ploy ;-) . I had to take a gfx card out to install it (easy enough though if you're building a new machine). I was sceptical about the data transfer software that came with it, but (and I kid you not) it was the easiest and most stress-free transfer ever. There was a 'heart-in-mouth' moment when swapping over to the SSD in BIOS and then rebooting, but it worked first time. And I can tell you, this thing is no slouch - my computer now boots to the password screen faster than my monitors can detect the display port signal. Unbelievably quick.

The product is great and provides great Read/Writes however I don't know if this is a Windows 10 related problem or a Samsung issue but the performance seems to drop off at the end of a transfer but its nothing big. Overall, great product with great performance!

M2 socket compatible motherboards have been around for a while but no hardware until recently. Better bet than an SSD, if your board has the M2 socket. Mine is on the underside of the motherboard, which was a bit odd..Seems quick and lively to me.

Is this a bootable drive?

I am planning to buy this ssd to use in my Asus Z-97 Deluxe in the M.2 slot. Is this a bootable drive? Will I be able to boot Windows 7 on this drive? Will it only work in UEFI mode, or will it support Legacy/BIOS mode as well? Cheers!

I do not know about your specific model, but I used mine to upgrade my Acer VN7-591G from the original 60GB SSD. It behaves as you would expect an SSD to behave and Windows 10 boots fine from it. As far as I know my device uses UEFI mode but I personally don't see why it won't work in 'legacy mode' as you put it. I would suggest you check on the Acer community forums or you device's specification to make sure it is compatible... M.2 slots can be a bit confusing sometimes when it comes to compatibility and the official manufacturer forums should give you a more detailed answer.
