120GB Kingston ssd Now V300, 2.5" Slim 7mm SSD SATA 6GB/s , MLC-Flash, Read 450MB/s, Write 450MB/s, 85000 IOPS OEM is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good solid quality SSD I used this SSD to refurbish a 6 year old Pentium Dual-Core PC and it boots to the Windows10 Desktop in under 10 seconds now instead of nearly 40 seconds. ! And a "Norton" quick scan takes 1 minute compared to 5 on the old 7200 rpm hard drive. Note: my old ASRock Motherboard only has SATA II (3 G/bps) ports - but the 'Now-V300' is backward compatible and would be even quicker on SATA III.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as expected. I was suffering from the "idle process taking all cpu" problem on my Windows XP OS. (The apex of Microsoft's OSs) . I cloned my C: drive onto this SSD and "did a system repair", keeping the Raptor with my original setting/files in reserve. The SSD installation was completely trouble free, my PC boots noticeably faster. The SSD takes less space and produces less heat. What more could I want? I cannot comment on durability or lifetime as I have had it less than a month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money I have purchased 5 of these for my own computers. The speed difference alone is well worth the investment. I haven't had any reliability problems and my oldest is in a server which has been running 24/7 since February 2016.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little SSD If you are not storing much, this is very useful in a laptop. You boot speed increases dramatically, and the general speed also increases. If you are using this in a PC, I would suggest a 2nd hard drive for your data

Questions & Answers

Is this SSD trim enabled?

I just want to know whether to turn on AHCI mode when I set this as my boot drive
Asked by: sally
Hi Sally... Yes Kingston strongly recommend enabling AHCI for this drive. And on my Windows 10 PC nothing further was required in the O/S.

What Mounting Kit is required

Does this require a mounting kit to attach the SSD to the AK-HDA-10BK - Akasa PCI Slot Mounting bracket for 2x2.5" SSD/HDD fits into Spare PCI or PCIe slot (your Scan Code: LN61621).
Asked by: TwoLeftThumbs
Hello, You just need to use standard mounting screws for this. Thanks,
