Scan Memory Price Pledge
When you buy Corsair memory from Scan, you’re buying a long-lasting part of your system, not something that gets used up.
Memory doesn’t wear out in normal use. It’s often reused across upgrades and is covered by Corsair’s limited lifetime warranty. That’s why memory is different from consumable items like batteries or ink. Because memory lasts, its value is closely linked to what it costs to replace.
If replacement costs rise, it becomes more expensive to buy the same memory again. To be fair to customers buying during periods of price movement, Scan offers its own Order with Confidence Pledge.
This is a Scan policy, not an official Corsair programme.
How the Pledge Works
- On the day you buy, Scan records the Memory Replacement Cost (RC) Index.
- 30 days after purchase, Scan checks that index again.
- If the index is lower than it was on the day you bought, Scan will credit your Scan account with the difference.
- The credit can be used on future purchases from Scan.
- If the index is the same or higher, nothing happens.
*What This Pledge Is (and Isn’t)
It Is:
- A one-time price adjustment check at 30 days based on replacement cost, not shop discounts.
- Automatic — you don’t need to do anything.
It Is Not:
- A return or buy-back.
- A price-match guarantee.
- A prediction about future prices.
- Your normal consumer rights and Corsair’s warranty are unchanged.

Why is memory not treated as a consumable?
Consumables are used up or wear out through use.
Memory doesn't. It keeps working year after year and is often moved between systems. That's why manufacturers offer lifetime warranties on it.
Why does replacement cost matter?
Replacement cost is what it would cost to buy the same memory today.
If that cost goes up, the memory you already own costs more to replace — so its practical value is maintained.
Does this mean memory is an investment?
No.
This isn't about making money or reselling parts.
It's about recognising that memory is a long-life component whose value depends on replacement cost, not consumption.
Do I need to track prices myself?
No.
Scan checks the RC Index automatically at day 30.
If a credit is due, it's applied to your account.
Why does Scan offer this?
Because price changes can happen shortly after a purchase, and customers shouldn't feel disadvantaged if that happens.
This pledge provides a clear, fair way to handle that — without returns, disputes, or guesswork.
What is a price index?
A pricing index is a standard method of tracking price changes over time by comparing current values to a fixed baseline.
Who is eligible for the pledge?
This pledge is intended for retail customers purchasing PC components or complete PCs. It does not apply to B2B or trade customers.
In short
- Memory lasts
- Replacement costs can change
