AMD EPYC™ 7002 Series Processor delivers breakthrough performance to Scan customers' Datacenters

Scan is delighted to work as a channel partner with AMD for the launch of the 2nd Gen AMD EPYCTM processors. Working alongside AMD and other technology partners including Gigabyte we have developed a new range of servers suitable for a wide range of applications including HPC, rendering and other datacentre workloads.

AMD EPYC™ 7002 series processors power the most demanding workloads with breakthrough CPU performance. With these processors, customers get a new level of performance, with Scan servers expected to deliver up to 2x the performance-per socket and up to 4x peak FLOPS per-socket over AMD EPYC™ 7001 series processors.

The range of Scan AMD EPYC™ servers will include single and dual-socket models, providing up to 64-cores / 128-threads per processor for outstanding performance and scalability. Delivering a comprehensive, consistent feature set of I/O, memory and security features, across 8 to 64 “Zen 2” cores, the AMD EPYC™ 7002 series processor delivers agility from a balanced set of features.

“The buzz generated in the market about the anticipated impact of the new innovations in AMD EPYC™ 7002 series processors is massive. These new processors enable new applications and workloads at aggressive price points and are a potential game changer for the server market” said James Gorbold, Technical Marketing at Scan. “We’re proud to be a hardware launch partner”.

“Driven by AMD’s history of datacenter innovation, including 7nm process technology, first x86 supplier to support PCIe Gen 4, and embedded security features, the AMD EPYC 7002 Series Processors set a new standard for the modern datacenter,” said Scott Aylor, corporate vice president and general manager, Datacenter Solutions Group, AMD. “Together, these innovations deliver the breakthrough performance customers need.”
