Some additions for your gaming experience bringing you comfort, reliability and the cool factor.

Wireless Headset

Creative SoundBlaster Tactic3D Omega Wireless

Headsets have come a long way since the last few years, in terms of sound quality improvement, comfort level, customization, weight values, surround sound, and connectivity. With this last one, wireless headsets have most of the time been really pricey and to be honest most of them didn’t really offer as good quality sound as other wired and cheaper headsets. Things have changed though, and today you can find incredible wireless headsets at a very reasonable price (of course still more expensive than wired ones) but believe me, the freedom you get with wireless is very much worth it! Some of the best ones won’t lose connectivity even through two walls, that’s how good they are. Some even have 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound.

LED Cathode

Antec Soundscience Bias Lighting Kit

Antec Soundscience Bias Lighting Kit

If you’re the kind of gamer I am, you probably like to play in the dark, or with the less light possible in your room. We all know it’s bad for our eyes and such, but to help a bit with that problem and make our gaming space have a better visual without loosing our “darkness”, I can only suggest trying some LED cathode strips. Some are weaker in wattage, others are higher, they can be either connected by USB or by normal electrical plug and you can position and adjust their size as much as you want. Put them in the back of your keyboard, behind your monitor, on top of your computer case, etc. You have them in a few colors so you can match them to your gaming space color scheme.

Razer bungee

Razer Mouse Bungee Cord Management System

Razer Mouse Bungee Cord Management System

I’m pretty sure sooner or later you had some problems with your wired mouse, either the cable wasn’t long enough, or it got stuck somewhere while you were playing, or it was pulling itself away and making your aim bad, etc. It happened to me for sure many many times, but not anymore since I bought one of these! Its sleek design makes the Bungee an essential addition to the limited space on your desk and will help keep your cord off the ground, away from the rest of your clutter. It will keep the cord in place, so you can control your mouse better, and not let it control your aim.

Nvidia 3D Vision 2

Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision 2 New Wireless Glasses and Emitter

Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision 2 New Wireless Glasses and Emitter

I’m going to be completely honest on this one. I have never liked 3D stereoscopic imagery in games in the past, they always looked rubbish and made my head hurt after a while. Well now things have changed in a big way and with Nvidia 3D Vision 2 there has been a HUGE improvement in every aspect. Glasses have better quality, they don’t make your head hurt, it has light boost technology that makes your experience more pleasant and vivid, and the 3D quality is actually a lot better. Most of the recent games support this technology so if you have a 3D capable monitor and if you like 3D, things are a lot better now, give it a try!

Logitech z906

Logitech 980-000469 Z906 5.1 Surround Speakers

Logitech 980-000469 Z906 5.1 Surround Speakers

For the best gaming sound experience, you need at least a good 5.1 system. They are a very good buy performance/price ratio. Easy to set up, good looking, great and crisp sound, great bass, THX certified and plenty of wattage power! If you have never played games on a 5.1 system, you’ll be amazed by it! Careful with your neighbours though!

Audio Adapter Splitter

Echo Audiofire 2 F/W Interface

Echo Audiofire 2 F/W Interface

Usually this is something people often forget about, but when you have a speaker system and a headset connected at the same time in your computer, you can’t have them on at the same time, or if you want to regularly switch between them there’s no way to do it without one of these. They are very cheap and they work flawlessly. Basically they split the audio jack entrance into two (or three if you need), so you can connect both your speakers and headset to your sound card.

Some extra additions to your desk space can improve your game play through comfort and convenience. The Scan store has these items and more so make sure you have the peripherals you need.
