
Established in 1994, The Fragrance Shop is the UK’s largest independent, fragrance retailer. Its aim is to make mainstream and luxury fragrance affordable and accessible, showcasing over 150 fragrance brands. Project Background
After working with Scan to upgrade the traditional static banners to digital signage posters throughout its estate, The Fragrance Shop (TFS) began looking for an impactful custom digital signage solution for its new Indulge Beauty flagship store at the Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre. The initial objective was to find a solution that would provide a flexible and reactive solution to promote offers and key brands throughout the store.
Project Approach
TFS wanted a multi-screen solution that would add dynamism to the in-store experience, however the need to control the visual content from a centralised location was also high on the list. TFS settled on a solution provided by Beabloo, a Barcelona-based retail analytics company, which included a content management system (CMS), allowing TFS to centrally and dynamically change and tailor the screen visuals as required throughout the day - either on-the-fly or by scheduling.

Beabloo’s omnichannel, cloud-based CMS is aimed at removing costs associated with the traditional method of POS, such as printing and distribution, bridging the gap between online and offline marketing. It allows the creation of content and display information that can be tailored to ever-changing trends and buying behaviours of customers in an engaging way.
Project Results
The final install was made up of a mixture of several video walls, large format displays and a dynamic stretched screen all controlled using the Beabloo CMS throughout the store. The CMS proved powerful and easy to use, as everything is managed through a web browser without the need to install any third-party software. Store staff could dynamically update and deploy fresh content from any device connected to the Internet.


Although the implementation is in its early days, there is evidence that customers are responding well to the visuals and remaking in store for longer periods.
The Scan Partnership
TFS approached Scan as an end-to-end provider of digital signage solutions, having researched numerous options. As the leading UK Beabloo solution provider, the Scan team was able to work with mangers at TFS to design and deploy a bespoke network of signage screens powered by a content management platform controlled by a small form factor custom PC designed and built by Scan’s in-house 3XS Systems division.
