Recommended compatible PC upgrades
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series is here, bringing with it significant performance increases and new technologies that help drive up frame rates and quality. For those looking to upgrade to this latest generation, especially coming from RTX 30 series or older, there are a few other key parts of your set up that might need to be upgraded to give you the best experience.
GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs draw more power in total than older generations of GPU due to having more cores and faster memory so its important to check that your PSU offers sufficient power. These GPUs also use the new higher specification 16pin 12V-2x6 connection vs the older 12VHPWR, 8 pin & 6pin connections from previous generations. Although older PSUs could be compatible to some degree, the latest model PSUs offer native solutions for this connection.

Customer Review Graphics cards have increased in size over the last few generations. Notably RTX 40 series and 50 series 80 and 90 class can be significantly larger. Newer PC cases are designed to support this but its possible that users with a 30 series or older GPU could have a case that doesn’t support all of the required dimensions. Be sure to check the dimensions of the GPU you are buying to be sure it will fit in your case.
