3XS graphics workstations provide superior ROI, as we can professionally overclock the CPU, thereby reducing render times. Overclocking is the process of boosting the CPU frequency above what Intel normally sets it at. Only Intel Core i5, i7 and i7 Enthusiast CPUs with the name ending in the letter K or X can be overclocked, and you can choose how far you want the CPU to be overclocked using our online configurator.

Overclocking will boost performance and system responsiveness, but as a side effect it generates additional heat. Our overclocked systems account for this heat by using high quality air and watercooling systems from our key partners such as Noctua, Be Quiet! and Corsair. These keep an overclocked CPU cool, ensuring that you enjoy the benefits of an overclocked CPU without any additional noise.

Choosing an overclocked CPU in the configurator does not affect system stability as we stress test all overclocked workstations for 24 hours before shipping. Overclocked CPUs are tested in conjunction with Intel, ensuring rock sold stability and improved ROI from the additional performance. In addition, your warranty is not effected, with overclocked workstations still being covered by our Premium 3 Year Warranty. The graphs below show how much additional performance you can expect to benefit from in a variety of CPU-intensive professional graphics workflows if choosing an overclocked CPU. In both graphs a blue CPU is the stock speed with a red bar showing the performance when the CPU is overclocked.
