Rated 5 out of 5 by Raymondo Quiet and cool
I recently built a new i74930K workstation and put an NH-L12 in. Really quiet and short enough to fit my 19" rack case. The new PC was so quiet I retro fitted another NH-L12 in my older workstation and used the included voltage adaptor cables to run the chassis fans. Now that PC is extremely quiet too.
No more constant white noise in the studio! The noisiest thing is the room now is the fridge.
On my Asus P9X79 Deluxe motherboard the NH-L12 prevents ram modules taller than 43mm being fitted in the slots nearest the CPU. Not a problem if you're using four modules but worth thinking about if you want to populate all eight slots.
CPU idles at 42C, hits 70C under load with all 12 cores topping out.
Now, if only Noctua made fridges . . .

I bought this to go on an ITX system (Gigabyte A85) which needs to use fast ram, so i bought this to keep the APU at decent temps, unfortunately the upper heatsink is too wide for my tall RAM, so it's not being used. I could have done some DIY and shaved the size down, but at the price I paid I couldn't! It will get used for a future HTPC build (hopefully).
It should be OK for a typical HTPC build with low profile RAM.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Alan I liked the whole design with the two fans. Contrary to some You Tube videos, where people suggest removing the bottom fan, there is no need to do this. Only the top fan needs to be removed; it has easy spring loaded clips and the screws to reach the base plate are easy to access through the fins. The fitting of the base plate was easy but I think mainly because I have a case that has a back door to access the rear of the motherboard. This just makes it easier to fit the X-plate. Mounting the Noctua NH-L12 can be made in different directions and there is plenty of clearance over the RAM so no problems at all. It's quiet and overall a good purchase.
None so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ian Managed to fit this in a Lian Li HTPC (Home Theater PC). Cracking piece of kit, fits my LGA2011 i7-3930K Overclocked chip on a standard ATX board without any problems. I did have to rotate orientation as heat pipes were to close to my ram. Keeps my processor at a stead 78degree, even under processor intensive loads like seti processing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dennis Easy to install, obvious height advatages, whisper quiet and great packaging and accessories.
Price is a little high, but I still think it represents value for money.
