Guitar virtuoso Jon Gomm ( https://www.jongomm.com ) is a singer-songwriter and acoustic solo performer, known for his highly intricate playing technique. With a deeply emotive style, soft voice and contrasting playing often producing a huge multi-layered sounds filled with bass, drums and near-orchestral depth and complexity from a single guitar. This requires a quiet space with sensitive microphones in order to capture the nuance of each performance, in a studio space designed not to add noise or cause any colouration of the sound whilst recording. Our solution features a high-performance yet relatively low powered AMD 7900 CPU and Noctua passive cooler, built within a stylish Fractal Design North case with its open plan airflow allowing for a setup capable of running with a single low speed fan rated to just 13 dB/a. During the recording sessions this system is perfectly silent, but for demanding post production sessions working on captured video it also features an Nvidia 4070 graphics card where the hybrid cooling design means it'll only engage the GPU fans under busier workloads found when video processing. Rounding out the specifications with 3TB of total memory split over two high-performance NVMe drives and 64GB of total memory, this is a highly versatile, powerful, yet silent solution for recording.
