Product Overview

The Intel® Core™ i7 processor family for the LGA-2011 socket is the next generation of 64-bit, multi-core desktop processor built on 32-nanometer process technology. Based on the high performance Intel® Core™ i7 processor microarchitecture, the processor is designed for a two-chip platform as opposed to the traditional three-chip platforms (processor, MCH, and ICH). The two-chip platform consists of a processor and the Platform Controller Hub (PCH) and enables higher performance, easier validation, and improved x-y footprint.

Very quick, runs the majority of things smoothly and with no problems at all.

Originally had difficulty fitting the mounting bracket until I realised (eventually) that this design din't need one. Also not quite as good performance wise as the Ivy Bridge which i found out after purchase... In hindsight I would of gone for a cheaper IB chip.

Performance is very very good without overclocking..
Rumor has it that this is easily clockable to 4.6Ghz and tbh I could believe it..
8 Processing Threads means this processor is probably the fastest quad core from Intel in sometime and I would highly recommend it!
