Rated 5 out of 5 by Graeme23 Great CPU - Far better than expected
After reading many reviews online I recommended this CPU for a client as they were looking for a beefy gaming CPU at a low price. Many reviews online are contaminated by fanboyism against AMD and for Intel. I'm glad to find that they were truly just fanboy reviews. After 6 months the client is very happy with the CPU, I used a Corsair AIO cooler to ensure boost stays high and it does a good job.
He is using two 7770s in CrossfireX but I have tested the system with my 7950 GPU and GTX 780 and it is really good. Compared to my Xeon E3-1270 v2 there is a small drop in frames in certain CPU intensive games but this is very rare and for the price you really can't complain.

bought this to replace athlon 640 and in comparision to my other pc, phenom 1045t which is oc to 3.3ghz, its much much faster. Encoding is 5x quicker than the phenom
oc to 4.5ghz with nps at all
stock fans are useless but is same for any cpu

Incredible value and great performance, plus a very good OC can be achieved on this too.

For the money, its incredible value and the 6 cores do help in multithreaded environments. An i3 is its main rival and does the job with half the wattage but its certainly a worthy competitor.
Gaming wise its certainly up to the challenge! Spend less on the CPU and more on memory and graphics grunt.

This replaced my Phenom II X4 945. It is a very nice CPU, although there are models that exceed this, the cost-performance ratio makes it a very good choice.

I am very impressed with this CPU. I have been running a Phenom II 965 (overclocked) for a few years, When I upgraded to the FX 6300 (along with a new motherboard) I was most impressed with the boost in system performance, even making a massive improvement in gameplay on call of duty Ghost.
The CPU clock is set at 3.5 Ghz with a boost up to 4.1 Ghz under load, the response time for the boost is very quick and the processor often runs at 3.8 Ghz. There are very few applications that would need to run this very capable CPU at maximum on all six cores.
This is an excellent Value CPU and I would have no hesitation in recommending it for Home, Office and Gaming.

Had this cpu for about 6 weeks not and so far so good, its coping with all my computing needs including dealing with 3d rendering and gaming, although it is not the best cpu out their, I definitely recommend it for anyone who wants great performance for a good price!

A great CPU overall certainly a great overclocker, straight from 3.5ghz to 4.5 with no hassle.
