Rated 1 out of 5 by Dan31 I'll be avoiding Toshiba for now.
Scan service was excellent, but the drive i received kept throwing up SMART errors and was making a fairly loud click noise every 2-3 seconds. I had previously ordered a couple of 1TB Toshiba drives from one of Scan's competitors and they also failed within a day or so.... I thought this couldn't possibly happen a third time with a different model from Toshiba, but it did! Other drives i'm using from Seagate and Hitachi are still running fine (the Hitachi drive is nearly 3 years old now).
I can't recommend Toshiba for HDD's based on my own personal experience.

I am extremely happy with my new computer, even more so that I built a far more powerful computer for the sale cost of my old pc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fergus Cheap backup
I got this with a 256Gb SSD to back files up on and discovered it's very fast, except in boot times there isn't much difference between this and my £120 SSD! MIght get another and RAID them...

Rated 5 out of 5 by ColinP Fast, good value, a little noisier than some others
Two of these were purchased and have been running well in a NAS drive from day one. In the context in which I am using them I have no complaints and would buy the same drives again if I needed to add capacity. They can be a little noisier than some other drives, but in no way intrusive.
All that with the excellent service from Scan, as always.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RichH A commodity product. Perfect.
A simple disc drive from a well know manufacturer. In use for a couple of weeks now. The drive arrives in an ESD plastic bag with no screws or cables etc. Excellent Scan packaging: Well secured in a lot of bubble-wrap and cardboard outer. I bought this simply because it was the cheapest 2TB drive available from Scan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Perun Dead in under 4 hours. Avoid like a plague
This hard drive has a great price and comes with fairly reasonable specs. The catch is - the quality of it is so poor that you should avoid it at all costs.
I purchased on of these hard drives, installed it ok, initialised and started copying partitions from my existing one. 3 hours 51 minutes later - the drive disappears from the system. BIOS sees it only sporadically, it makes horrid clicking noise and doesn't work in any of the two SATA controllers. Windows/Linux neither can see it.
In a way, I am glad it failed before I deleted the data from the old drive. I would say - don't trust this drive with anything. Internet is full of people who have these DOA or failing within a few days or weeks.
There are alternative drives for just a few pounds more. Ask yourselves - how important is your data. Check newegg reviews for this family of drives and you will see that my issue is far from a one-off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by chrissyy2009 This product has no features
This product has no features. None at all. Its unbelievably slow too.
Bios doesnt recognise it and neither does windows. Phoned Toshiba and they dont even recognise the serial number.
Toshiba have asked me to send it to them so they can look at it.
