Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 54 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by very good all in all this HDD is actually pretty good, runs smooth , runs fast, saves electricity too. if you idle around away from pc the hdd is switched OFF and it starts backup in just a second. 15 November 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bought for a mid to high end system build A good solid choice for any system really, it's the right price (from Scan anyway!) with decent access speed and capacity. Delivery was swift and the item well packaged. The system detected the hard-drive with no need for extra sata drivers as you would expect, and windows 7 ultimate installation was a breeze- completed in around 10 minutes. I haven't used this drive on a daily basis as the system was made for someone else. All in all, great drive from the time I worked with it. 21 October 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by 1tb hard drive seagate the delivery was fine the sevice from scan I have always found to be excellent, the hard drive is suberb though maybe a little noisy.have a touch of vibration but nothing to worry about. all in all a great hard drive 20 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by superb value Fast service, great products, great prices, great company! 19 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does what is says on the tin!! Needed extra storage for my PC, this mor ethan covers it - no problems with it so far.....!? :) 13 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good cheaper alternative to WD colour drives I've been running several 'cudas for the last 3 or so years, no failures thus far so if I'd have shelled the extra on WDs I'd have wasted it. Yes the WDs are more robust, but mechanical failure statistically tends to happen early on. I wouldn't knock anyone for spending more on a WD colour drive, and I wouldn't knock them for taking the 'cheap' option either these drives can run for just as long, mechanical failure is somewhat of a lottery. WD drives have the bonus of extended warranty that these do not offer, that is the way to look at the decision rather than the actual drives. 11 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by good product what to say ?….great service, fast delivery and very pleasant, helpful staff. How it should be really. 08 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by No problems, Good Drive There's not much in it price-wise between the various different manufacturer's 1TB Drives, but I think that Seagate are the best of the bunch. I've had no problems with mine, it's fast and quiet. Unless going for an SSD, I wouldn't buy anything smaller than a 1TB drive and this is a great choice. 24 September 2014

Answer:
SATA III is backwards compatible so you can use this drive with a SATA II port, without issues but of course will operate at SATA II speeds.

Answer:
I've put one of these in a machine with a SATA II motherboard and it worked fine, so I guess the answer is yes, but probably depends on the motherboard.
